I think this is the culprit for the double posting.

When you are doing a fast reply and someone else posts something and you hit POST it hangs and then when you hit POST again it produces the double post.

Over to Nasher as that is above my pay grade.

point is though, that it wasn't doing this previously (at least for me and my combo)

It seems to have been happening since we started using a server side solution to fix other issues we were having with the site that was producing a lot of errors and crashes. It seems we fix one thing but then had another issue spring up.

Pain in the butt.

I can add a quote if I hit the BBCodeMode icon on the quick reply box menu first, then the quote button.

This adds the quote in text mode. I can then hit the BBCodeMode icon again to go back to graphical mode.

its been happening for maybe 6 weeks???

the double quoting for me on firefox. is when the original quote is posted but your not returned to the thread, so I often rehit the post button, ending up double quoting.

#edit: its just worked fine this time.

I believe it is only happening when someone else has posted whilst you were writing your post.

i think you are on the right track but it is more specific than that

from my observation

i can get it to work when posts have been added since i started to post

but..... i think it doesn't work when the db is actually in the process of updating a new post when i hit my post button

at least that seems to be the case

a record lock handling issue?

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round.
