We have had many discussions on our coach for next year, I have a complete coaching panel plus a midfield star all from the Adelaide FC

Head Coach Neil Craig

Mid-field Coach Simon Goodwin

Forward Coach Wayne Carey

Backline Coach Nathan Bassett

Get Scott Thompson back as a free agent

Must have been all those premierships that Adelaide won in the mid 2000's that got your attention hey?

But seriously Carey has never been a full time coach or had any interest, does he now want to? And to link him with Adelaide is like linking Makybe Diva to the Syndey cup.

Bassett would be a tremendous get but I think he's knocked back way better offers than what we'd offer.

Goodwin might be very tarnished by this ASADA scandal.

Scott Thompson I'd have back in a flash though. Although I don't see how he goes home to Adelaide and now wants to move back to Melbourne. I know he's been struggling this year but I'm sure he'll get it back together.

Thompson won't get it back together, he is on the decline now at 30.

Still, you know a player is a gun when he is down on form and still averaging 24.4 disposals a game.

Wayne Carey NO WAY!!!!!

Completely agree. As a special comments guy Carey knows Jack about the game!!

Considering Scott Thompson left us of his own free violition and we delisted Bassett, do you seriously consider either of them would be keen to return to the MFC in our current dysfunctional state?

Fair call, but we didn't delist Bassett. He requested a trade home and we traded him for Matthew Collins and Brent Williams at the end on 1997.

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
