Opel going ... we will need a new major sponsor.

Featured Replies

That's a great way of looking at it.

PJ did say he saw this as an opportunity (as if to say we can do better than Opel).

every team losers sponsors from time to time.. having Opel for a year has helped us over not having them.

now as we are under the AFL's assistance & with the very capable PJ up front I think we are in the box seat to get a good deal going forward in Continuing tough world economic climate...

we don't need a luxury item type company...

we need a 'recession proof' type large Organisation that supplies every day staples to the homes of Australia. items that are essentials in all economies.

why not ...we play like soggy cornflakes !!!

......I like my cornflakes soggy

... look, you've got to laugh from this position, when they're is nothing we can do about it but start to learn... as a club, to become a club again...

that passion, that fire in the guts, that take allcomers on 'attitude', comes from hardship. this is what we lack from not having a broad base to our supporter numbers.

laughing is all I have.... Crying got me nowhere :)

Spot on bb

The football world thinks we are a joke so a little humour does not seem out of place.

Maybe we could get sponsorship from Alpha Male Health...then we really could be the hardest team to play against.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
