NAB CUP 3: ST. KILDA

You're argument is all floss and no substance WYL. You just come up with cliches like "big picture", "culture", "turning a blind eye", "186", but provide no actual basis or proof for what you're saying. That's a very weak thing to do to the club you apparently support. We have had countless players and board members in the last 50 years, so the club has changed in that time, many times, so tell me HOW our onfield performances in the last 5 years were directly effected by the board? Give me some facts, some evidence, no more cop out cliches.

The club has had a failed rebuild under the current admin, I think they should have been held responsible but the decision has been made to let them try again. The reasons for this seem to be based on off field performance so lets just let them get on with the job.

I hope they get it right this time.

Were you at the game? I wasn't and was wondering whether Watts spent a lot of time on the bench. Watching the replay I didn't see much of him. Maybe that would account for his meagre stats sheet?

Yeah i thought he was subbed in after qtr time.

From what I saw of the game, we are going nowhere in hurry with our curent level of kicking skills.

Some of the players on our list have kicking skills that would be frowned upon in A grade Amo's.

It's deplorable. They are AFL players FFS.

stmj, where have you been? All's well?

Totally agree. The present board is lucky to still be in the chair.

The heat should be on them full blast to perform to maximum levels which then filters through organization.

If this current board can achieve this for a sustained period the club WILL improve.

Losing Jimmy was a massive blow, but we should now use Jimmy's legacy as the motivator for absolute excellence.

As a financial member i accept nothing less now.

I back Neeld 100% but the torch is on the 13 players left who played in 186.

Why because at this point i can't trust them. I hope i can in the future. This is a team that Cannot win a game 3km's down the road from the 'G for almost a decade.

It is all connected....Free Agency may be the saviour of this club.

Prove it WYL? Show me you're proof that admin effect player performance.

Stuie, not joining in the argument between you and WYL, but watch the footage on the Herald Sun website...

Find the Superfooty Video section (you will have to scroll down a bit), then find the clip of Bomber Thompson Fires Up Over Comparison With Sharks. at the 33 second mark, they talk about Brett Kimmorley, and show a recent interview with him.

Nb. For someone who is more tech-savvy, it would be great to get that clip put directly on here so that you don't have to go through my above instructions!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
