You must have a low threshold today Old Dee, that was a [censored] weak effort by a keyboard hero, must have been dripping tears on the keys

Thanks for that.

I saw him at a training session before round one and he was very very skinny but that can be improved (if he doesn't hang around with Watts). He was kicking to a coach about 25-30m away and they were accurate but his kicking action makes Tom McDonal look like a ballerina. Will be intresting to keep an eye on his progress - if he can get his skills to an AFL level then he needs to concentrate on decision making under pressure and his aggression.

Even if he can master all that then what kind of player would he be? Anyone know his height?

I think its a stab in the dark but worth the shot. You would think that we could find someone more developed from Ireland or America.

I was there that day to chatting to a fellow supporter on the seats. Did you see Dawes give him a spray?

This from Andrew Nichol today:

"Maia has been really impressive since arriving at the club. He's got good hands. He's played some top level sport in New Zealand. He'll play up forward in the Development League in the VFL this Saturday. That will be his first game since arriving at the club. He played a couple of games in NZ in an international competition, so it's exciting times. Paul Satterley has done an outstanding job with him from a development point of view."

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
