    Just quietly, Philander is a star. I don't think he should try and 'boost his pace' later in the innings though.

    If it ain't broke don't fix it and with Philander's injury history I don't think his captain should be pushing him towards another injury through over exertion.

    Yeah, I see in that article they admit his niggle injuries remain a concern.

    Good bowler nevertheless just quietly.

    Never! Haha I was actually going to take him a couple of rounds ago but thought he might slip a bit more. Looks like I grabbed him at the right time!

    Between Powell, Darren Bravo, Narine and a few other guys, the Windies are building a very talented (very) young side. Will be interesting to see how they develop in the next few years. Could they become a strong test nation again? Or continue to flop in every match longer than 20 overs?

Meaning that you can't select Powell as you've already selected two players from 3 countries and you already have Darren Bravo for West Indies.

    You don't have anyone from Sri Lanka or Pakistan yet so you need to select payers from there. I'm assuming that means that Powell has to g back into the pool and 45 may get to have his pick again depending on H_T's decision, you might have two country breach picks at the end now.... :blink:

    Definitely have to choose at least one player from each team, because that's one of the restrictions that makes these selections devilishly difficult at times.

    As mentioned in some of the other posts, there's a fair few tactics involved, it's very easy fall into the trap of forgetting about a nation or two, I know myself and another person have to pick a player from a certain nation with our final picks.

    Don't feel to bad thoug Django, there's still some decent players left from both nations who will probably still be available at your last two picks. You just may need to go with a 4 pronged pace attack and use Clarke & Du Plessis as your spinners part time.

      The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

      The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace.They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
