I'm not sure that Farren Ray is such a great pick-up. He has never impressed me particularly. When he moved from the Bulldogs, "He has said that he had to move to give himself the opportunity to become a regular senior footballer. There were question marks on his decision making and willingness to strongly contest the ball." (Wikipedia). This has always been my impression of him too. He then had a couple a good years under Ross Lyon but has languished at Sandy for much of 20012 under Watters. Are we picking up another Cale Morton that will only ever be a depth player and won't be in our best 22 in 2 years time? If he's so good then why isn't he in the Saints best 22?

The wife's a St Kilda supporter so I've seena lot of Ray over the last few years.

He's impressed me a fair bit since he moved from the Dogs and impressed me when he played seniors this year, I haven't been able to work out why he isn't in Scott Watters plans apart that he may simply be an unlucky victim of Watters trying to introduce some kids.

He goes a lot harder then Cale and I've found his decision making very sound. He also has the ability to play a shut down role yet still find the footy at the same time. Something our current tagger, Jordie has trouble doing.

Farren has some decent pace also (not lightning quick, but still reasobale turn of pace) so I think there's a lot he brings to the table that we sorely lack.

I'm all for his signature as it will bring competition for spots in our 22 and he would become another player to join our list from a club with a recent winning culture.

Simple. We're not as good as the Saints. We need players of his standard to get us to the next level of attracting A graders, so yeah hopefully he won't be in our best 22 in 2 years time, that would be the plan.

Same thing has just been reported on SEN on both deals for the Dees at least we can not complain about Neeld not going for it just hoping all these changes that the players can gel together as a team to perform better and quickly next year .
