Our new besties - GWS

I believe he wants to stay in WA next year.

Could do worse than cut his teeth at Claremont in the WAFL

only reservation I have about Hogan is how long it will take for him to do any real damage - 17 year old KPP, gotta be about 5 years off one would think. An 18 year old top draft pick midfielder is generally pretty much ready to go straight away as the last few drafts have shown

How long will it take BP's pet project Cook before we can build a side around and before he does any damage?

Just on GWS. Wasn't there someone from GWS recently stating publicly that the GWS were being careful with their cap limit re: discussions with Jon Giles and his contract. He wanted more money, several other clubs were keen etc....?????

All of the sudden Giles is re-signed on a decent 3 year contract.

Now I'm reading today Stephen Silvagni and the Giants are ready to step in if the Swans and Crows can't reach an agreement over Tippett. The $900K contract rings a bell or two.

Oh, sorry, nevermind....I forgot GWS have an endless pit of money and a cap that is as flexible as a rubber band at the AFL's discretion.

Hogan turns 18 in Dec so would be 19 when he hits the ground in 2014, and by all accounts should be cherry ripe by then, after 2 pre-seasons and a year at Casey...

Are you sure thats right? Can't he play for us a an 18yo??

This decade is looking doubtful H_T

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
