2012 Player Review - # 14 Lynden Dunn

After not being able to find a permanent position in the AFL senior team, Lynden was put down back in Round 13 against GWS, and has not looked back.  He has commanded a position in the backline, and showed great ability to win contests.  He was very disciplined, and gave us good drive and rebound from the backline.  Lynden was one of the most improved players for 2012.  He should look forward to the pre-season, knowing that he’s locked down a spot within the team.  - Jade Rawlings (backline coach) melbournefc.com.au

Loved his work in the second half of the year

Backs himself and can get acuratly and very long Looked very fit all year and made it to many contests and ran forward

Hope he stays back and has another great year in 2013

Sounds like someone is getting a new contract...

Don't think there will be any more contracts until the trading business is done with. However I agree with you, in that they will re-sign Dunn if there are no decent offers forthcoming.

career saving move sending him down back against the giants, didn't look back from that time

Everything went topsy turvey this season

- Garland moved forward

- Rivers moved forward

- Watts moved back

- Dunn moved back

Dunn struggled to have an impact in the forward line early on in the season but the reinvented himself as a key defender. One of the biggest kicks in the team as well. Defiantly keep

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
