Before the crows game in fox they showed a video gives us an inside to Mark Neeld's game day coaching.

In the pre-match speech one of the main message is "Sense of Urgency" I think Neeld really want us to make huge improvements next year.

here's the video for people that not seen it.

Everyone is making valid points and it's certainly against the odds but I think there is framework for it to occur. Am I certain it'll happen, of course not but there is a drum beating at AAMI Park and I think come April it'll be ready to roar.

Take for example West Coast- years 2008-2011.

Bad 08 bad 09 SH!t 10 amazing 11.

Melbourne 10-13

Okay 10 okay 11 sh!t 12 ?13

West Coast had a year of death even with the quality of talent because re-shaping a gameplan and a team is hard work. They had premiership quality leaders around and they still couldnt muster getting off the foot of the ladder. We have two 20 year olds leading out a team, and here we are still putting up somewhat of a fight sadly albeit most of the time for a quarter or a half. Yes they had injuries so do we but when you look at some of their names like Mackenzie, Butler, S.Selwood, Lynch, Priddis if In 2010 I told you these guys would be linchpins to a potential 2012 premiership team we'd be in hysterics.

MFC's real talent isn't yet unleashed because the gameplan simply won't yet allow it to be. We're writing off players who were playing a game completely unaccustomed to them this season, and the real results will not be known till Round 1 of next year.

For the first time in a long time, I'm confident the MFC are finally climbing up the summit and if it takes some optimism to rid some of the gloom from this board I'm happy to stand up and be accountable, and come 2013 I hope the players will be repaying my faith in them.

I hope they do too Demonland 7

But if it is ok with you I won't hold my breath just yet

The top 8 is a big ask. But we'll probably be in the second 8.

You're clearly with me, sitting in a seat way up the back of the Reality Bus.

We have two 20 year olds leading out a team ...

Without wishing to sound a pedant, Grimes started the year as a 22 year old and is now 23.

When there were 16 teams you only had to finish half down the ladder to make the finals, and you could finish half way down the ladder by winning about half your games. With 18 teams if you win about half your games you will still finish about half way down the ladder, but that now means 9th or 10th, which won't get you into the finals.

Love the video...as soon as neeld mentions hard work and discipline the camera zooms in on sylvia lol

You left out players the calibre of Cox, Kerr, Embley, Kennedy, Glass, Waters, LeCras, Hurn and Adam Selwood. We simply don't have the depth of experienced talent that West Coast did leading into 2011. So, I just don't think it's a good comparison..

I just don't think we have the players to get there next year. However depending on how active we are in the FA/Trade period I may change my view. But I think/hope we could be pushing up around 10th if a few things go our way...

This is where I'm basing my prediction.

Improvement of existing players and bringing in some young guns and complimentary mature players (and possibly a FA or 2)
