The MCG Centre Square

Featured Replies

Did anyone else think the centre of the MCG was unusually muddy and devoid of grass today. I counted a number of times when players from both sides fell over (including a crucial stumble from Sam Blease in the 2nd quarter), and I'm just wondering if anyone agrees.

What's the deal, dudes?

Yeah, but the 'G usually holds up better than that.

Sometime in the next month they will re-lay the middle strip completely. Happens every year.

Makes sense.

Got there nice and early to discover a groundsman spreading a wheelbarrow full of dyed green turf, sand or sawdust around the centre circle.

Had the tractor (or other such machine) driving round spreading soil (or other such small matter) on the square about 5 minutes after the game. (I'm not a farmer)
