If "Dipper was coming for me at 100km/h I'd be four rows back in the stand.

This post broke my head. He was definitely not a ruckman, was way skinnier than Embley (though I concede he played the similar "winger" role) and don't think he ever played full back - you might be thinking of Tony Campbell or Johnny Howat.

Yeah, he did pinch hit there a few times, and well..

I'm not sure what you are suggesting here (that Tom is not Tiger's biological son?) I'm pretty sure Tom was his biological son but with a different surname because it's either his mother's or his step-father's.

His mother and Tiger never spoke much but yes ,I think we got him as a father/ son and he played a few games for us .

I'm not suggesting anything about legitimacy or any of that .

However.

Prince Harry/Will Carling. Get one of those ginger hairs to the DNA lab for the sake of the throne!

Interesting we have a lightly framed wing man/defender that plays for MFC /Casey now

likes a hanger and gets maligned for being soft maybe the game has changed so much that this type of player is not as valued.

These days though this type of player is also protected

We also had a lightly framed wingman in the past who liked a hanger

difference being that Flower had no regard for his own safety.

How good would Flower be these days

I guess you are referring to Cale Morton deesrule, and I agree they could be similar type players (or at least add similar value to the team). For that to happen though, Cale would need to be prepared to get his hands dirty far more often, ramp up the effectiveness of his disposal to around the 80% mark and improve his decision making under pressure enormously. Do-able? Maybe, but unlikely imo.

I always thought Daniel Ward's running style was reminiscent. Even a touch of the Keith Greiggs in running style, beatutifully balanced, very sure footed, very reliable skills. Definitely an outside player, not great at the contested ball which probably stopped him being rated with the very best.

Unfortunately having a gun footballer for a dad doesn't guarantee a player.

The great RDB has at least one son as far as I remember - never mentioned as a potential footballer, other than in the press release the day he was born!!

Barassi's son played Under 19's for North Melbourne.

Flower's son played for Eastern Ranges and Sandringham in '02.

Doesn't Garry Lyon have 2 sons? They'd be getting close to 18 now, wouldn't they? Does anyone know if they play footy/are any good?

Garry has 3 sons. Youngest would be about 13 with other 2 older.

Long term, Davey has 3 or 4 boys now.

All we need is for 1 to be gun, but we might be lucky and get a few...

Dees for flag in 2034, and we'll celebrate with chocolate coated ants.

Davey has 1 son with twin sons on the way.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
