We all know we have to change the clubs culture to a FireBrand.

We all know we have to get the Mids to be better and Win the clearences.

So we have to all pull together and clingon for the hard yards needed, to get this ship moving out of the Dock.

The engineroom needs an overhaul & a cleanup/out.

Neelds the Captain & Diesel mechanic, & he has the blue prints.

Anyone else fed up with the word "elite"?

I'm fedup with Melbourne not being considered one of those sides.

And if this was the team on this Weakend, >

Melbourne

B: Joel Macdonald, James Frawley, Clint Bartram

HB: Rohan Bail, Jared Rivers, Colin Garland

C: Jack Watts, Jack Grimes, Nathan Jones

HF: Jack Trengove, Brad Green, Jeremy Howe

F: Aaron Davey, Mitch Clark, Stef Martin

FOLL: Mark Jamar, Brent Moloney, Jamer Magner

I/C: Matthew Bate, Jordie McKenzie, Sam Blease, Josh Tynan

EMG: Lynden Dunn, Tom Couch, James Sellar

changes required to stiffen things Up.

Maybe 5 changes > McDonald Morton Couch Sellar Bennell

No not at all. Elite is a word the MFC needs to learn as a basic mantra. Until it becomes second nature.

Yes dee-luded. I closed my eyes this morning, drew a long deep breath..........relaxed, and with that, accepted where we're at. "Whatever it takes" is our mantra, we will stay the course.

As supporters we're the lucky ones, all we have to do is support, the Club though, has a monumental amount of work needed for success and we need to support that effort.

We will stay the course.

This is how bad things are right now- I would have scoffed at Morton and Bennell being suggested as changes. Now I'm like whateves- ring in the changes, it can't get much worse can it?

sometimes changes are whats needed to make these boys realise they are in fact competing with one another for the spots.

Change Davey Out for a Bennell or Strauss.

Green to the Interchange/Sub: spot... shot over the Bow of HMAS Green.

Blease out for a strong body please. Let Bail, & Bennell or Strauss provide some run.

It's like a swear word, the more it is repeated the less impact it has.

Only if you refuse to take it on board fully. Talk is cheap yes, but elite actions are not and can never be.

"Stay on course". Christ, we are going nowhere, we are dead in the water.

Gee dee-luded two of that three are great options

Bennell is as bad as Blease and Strauss is still coming back from a terrible broken leg.

Swapping Bennell for blease is shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic

I think Bennell plays Subico well so I'd include him.

(Yep, clutching at straws)

Your right, exactly, but only because their learning. and Bennell has to learn to put his head over the ball.

But the Worst thing that can happen is that Blease also learns the half hearted ways,

So my post is to use the selection table to frequently make changes the Very second someone takes a short step, or fails to put their body inline with the ball or player.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.
