Is there any consideration to have a united stand at Jim's funeral tomorrow.

Can't be there today but my thoughts and prayers are with Jimma and his friends and family.

Thanks for the memories my hero.

I would like an opinion Demonlanders. I plan to attend this morning. I will not try to take a seat in the cathedral but rather will go to fed square. - Is it appropriate to wear the number 11 Jumper today? I am unsure. Dont wanna pretend this is a footy game, but i have a match worn Stynes jumper I was given by jim, I was thinking today may be appropriate day to wear it. Any thoughts

absolutely ok BH

I unfortunately won't be there either today recording it on tv and will definetly make the round 4 game. I recently purchased the new MFC reach jumper with the number 11 on the back if I were going today I would be wearing that with pride! RIP big fella

I will be watching through teary eyes from Canberra, silently thanking Jimmy for his contribution to the Melbourne Footy Club; thinking of the thousands of kids who now have a better future because of Jimmy; and thinking of his family in these toughest of times.

Wear it with Pride mate...

That was indeed me on both pages. I am glad they only shot me from behind. I pulled a sicky from work yesterday. Would not have been a good look if i had of shown up on The Age photos at the funeral.

I was also wondering whether WYL was in the Age pics

Sadly i couldn't make it in there. Just too busy at work. I watched it on TV. Very proud to see all the colours in the crowd.

The MFC does stand for a lot. We must grow the energy that we all felt yesterday.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
