2 tracks from 'Moby' ... the first song is from 'Letterman' and features Gwen Stefani

Thought I would post a couple of my favourite "minimalist" film clips - feel free to post more on this theme.

The first one, Elvis Costello's "I Wanna be Loved" was actually filmed as one continuous shot in a photo booth at Flinders Street Station by a local production company Rich Kids.

The second was, I think, produced by Godley and Creme themselves... superb:

The Killers, Joy Ride. Strangely they never made a music video for this song, so the uploader has put one together.

I saw Dan Sultan live again last weekend. He's quite an incredible talent. Well worth the effort to see him live if anyone get's the chance.

He's just released a new song.

This is the version of Old Fitzroy he's doing on his current tour. It doesn't really do him justice, but still worth a listen.

Not the "official" video of Godsmack's 'Whiskey Hangover' but nonetheless, an interesting one!

Nice one Macca. The vocals sound a lot like James Hetfield.

I heard a song in the movie Crash a few years ago and thought it was by Dave Gray. I kept wondering why I couldn't find that song on any of his albums, took me a while to figure out it wasn't him at all. Great song (and a great movie too).

Couple of tunes from a couple of female artists from the late 90's. The first from Margaret Urlich followed by a song from Lisa Loeb.

Both singers are still active today with Lisa releasing a new album in 2013 called "No Fairy Tale." Margaret, who hails from New Zealand, now lives in Sydney. Both tracks are from their award winning early albums. ("Safety in Numbers" by Margaret and "Tails" from Lisa)

I've heard this song a few times on Triple J recently. Took me a while to track down the artist and song, it's one of the Unearthed artists.

I don't think she's released an album yet, just a couple of singles. I can't get enough of it.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.
