2011 Player Review - # 12 Colin Sylvia

Featured Replies

I learned to expect spasmodic cameos from Col that are cack tease that he can aspire to greater heights.

He is a wonderful finisher of the play. Strong overhead and can kick 60 metres. But he is prone to brain fades.

Not a chas candidate IMO but some who I want to keep in the side because I hope we will see better output from Col as the team matures.

Geez - I hope Neeld likes the feel of undies on the outside of his pants. With all the players we are expecting him to resurrect and turn into 110% of their potential, he'd better be on the case 24/7.

Col is a frontrunner. Talented player but needs to totally change the way he plays. It'll take a lot of commitment for him to do that. I'm hoping for the best but not expecting it.

I've really gotta stop putting $10 on him for the brownlow at the start of every season...

I hope Beamer heeds his own sage advice and wreaking havoc on a regular basis.

Yeah if he pulls his finger out he is capable of winning our BnF and finishing 9th in the brownlow

Would love nothing more than for Colin to come out and take the game on like he did against Richmond every week. Deadset gamebreaker... when he wants to be...

Any thread about this bloke always ends up about one thiing and one thing only ...attitude. His is quite frankly crap most of the time. everyone salivates about the moments of abberation. Am I the only one who thinks this is totally f#*%ed !!!! I hope not.

If only

Colin remains a huge question mark .

Leading teams technique or perhaps some disgruntled fans .

A heretofore un fulfilled talent.

And the years are ticking away ...

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
