Prelim Final 1: Coll v Haw

Featured Replies

One thing i did take note of last night was the players lifted for MM, as seen after the game. Wont happen for Buckley next year. Enjoy the backward side Nathan

I agree about the umpring, however Hodge should have got a free in the last quarter but the most obvious one missed was how come Tarrant didnt get penalised for deliberate out of bounds when he has kicked it towards the boundary. He wasnt trying to so anything else.

What about the one where Gibson blatantly had his arm held on the goal line to stop him touching the ball

Intensity was unbelievable especially from the Hawks and Mitchell, Lewis and Sewell in particular. Neeld should sit our boys down and make them watch that from start to finish before the pre-season starts so they know what level of intensity and gut-running is required to be the best.

Both sides were trying to play their brand of footy, but only the dorks style prevailed for the 1st 3 quarters. Look at the dorks uncontested possession count – ridiculously high.

If the filth didn’t go man on man in the last quarter, they would have lost the game.

Absolute Classic Preliminary Final...That was September pressure at it's finest.

That is the level Coach Neeld must get our list & Club to. A long way to go but it can be done quickly.

I will not accept the "kid" excuse next year...All lists have kids, ours just need to get Better & Stronger.

It will be 5 years since the rebuild next year....We must aim & expect to play in September next year.

Friday nights game should be watched by our entire club...often.

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
