You left out big Carl.

Carl Ditterich: white headband, flailing elbows

Daniher unleashed some mighty roars. The one against Carlton after the match when they reduced the 54-point three-quarter time margin to 18 points is a memorable one. He really let them have it. Daniher teams were pretty well drilled imo. But I think he was too kind to certain players, had favourites. Bailey was the same imo.

Balme had an awesome team in 94, but injuries killed us for the next few years. His last few years were filled with moments of fury, but mostly out of desperation more than anything.

I never once saw Bailey go off his rocker.

From the preacher to the teacher, to the err..He's a teacher too isnt he the new guy?

What about Greg Hutchison and Mark Riley?

Fill-ins. But Hutch had a memorable win over Richmond the week after a dire performance against the Crows which caused Gutnick to sack Balme.

Wasn't Dennis Jones an unmitigated shambles?

Classic DJ from R21, 1978 (http://demonwiki.org/Round+21+1978)

"A Reform Group had been handing out leaflets at the game demanding big changes in the Demons administration, including sacking Jones as coach and he gleefully stomped their literature into the ground in the rooms after the match."

Gleeful stompage of literature is sadly lost to modern football.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • GAMEDAY: Fremantle

It’s Game Day, and the Demons return to the MCG wounded, undermanned and desperate. Still searching for their first win of the season, Melbourne faces a daunting task against the Fremantle Dockers. With key pillars missing at both ends of the ground, the Dees must find a way to rise above the adversity and ignite their season before it slips way beyond reach. Will today be the spark that turns it all around, or are we staring down the barrel of a 0–6 start?
