The Harlem Globetrotter goal that wasn't..

Anyone remember this halfway through the fourth quarter? Watched the replay and loved the description given by Dunstall.

I think it was Sylvia with the clearance, passed through about five sets of hands as clean as you ilke, looped in the air with a reverse tap over the head to Jurrah who caught it on the fly and snapped it just to the right. If it had gone through I think Dwayne's head would've exploded.

When we're on, I think even the netural would say we're close to the most exciting team to watch.

yeah that was great, if only jurrah had slotted it through. a tigers fan infront of us remarked "i dont rate the melbourne football team, but the melbourne volley ball team are awesome!" haah

I was just saying yesterday to a mate how exciting we are when we get going. Our ability to score in bursts and move the ball so quickly end to end is fantastic to watch. Imagine following the saints - it would be akin to watching a bloke push a big rock up a hill.

Funny how earlier in the season our "game plan" was getting a hammering. A few win shuts that talk up pretty quickly, that and 35 tackles inside 50 - which by the by is the sort of pressure Bailey has pointed out all season we are aiming for and that a failure to do so is not related to game plan but execution. Oh, also intersting how now there is the talk about the Hawks "slice and dice" game plan based around clinical kicking. If they win the flag will that become the new tactical orthodoxy?

On record as saying that game plans are not radically different from club to club - we are a little more high risk/high reward however it is not the plan that should have been called into question - it has always been the ability to EXECUTE where we have failed or on the last two matches passed.

Execution and decision making. Good point, nutbean.

I remember it, definite contender for goal of the year if it went through the big sticks. Is the best behind that I can remember!

Was it in the Tackle this week were Robinson stated the loser coach between Bailey and Eade would be back under pressure .

The media are just parasites and won't be happy till they have a coach scalp , even then they'll just move onto the next coach under abit of pressure .

Team goals aren't considered .

Couldn't give the prize to Jurrah .

Yep , our game style is awesome to watch when on song .

Couldn't handle it if it was similar to the Aints.

If we got Roos as coach like some want around here guess what we'd get .

What was GOOD about it was that it highlighted something to some of us. We're playing pretty darn well at times, but we're still not on fire. There have been games we've played this year and last where those ones go through. Our best is stunning...

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
