So has he been that bad?

Yes compared to last year, he is down on form, but he had a blinder last year

my biggest pet peeve is he demands the all even when he is in a worse position and as he is the captain team mates automatically hand it off to him.

He doesn't almost drop his head, its down and he sulks off to his position. His body language is terrible.

He doesn't like body contact when he has the ball, and gives off indiscriminate kicks and 'Bruce-like' handballs to avoid being tackled.

He lets Moloney rev them up at qtr time and three qtr time.

He looks for frees.

I hate to say it, but hasn't acted nor played like a captain.

He, like Bailey, has an uphill climb to keep his position.

Statistically it doesn't seem too bad however, there are certain aspects missing from Brads game which are important to that of a captain.

The most glaring aspect is the willingness to do the hard things, tackle and harass. A captain has to set the example for these things, particularly damning is that in 3 round of football Green failed to lay a tackle, most concerning, the first two rounds of the season where the tone for the year is to be set.

He has the inability to step out of his own game and motivate players. After Petterd kicked the first goal of the third quarter against Adelaide, Green who was 10 metres away, simply turned round a ran back to the wing. He should have been over to Petterd congratulating him and encouraging him to get another.

Furthermore, Green will burn players and choose to kick goals himself rather than bringing these players into the game and building their confidence.

Green will always be limited in the influence he can have on a game as captain as he relies on other to bring him into the game, thats no knock on him, however, there are very few if any other captains who are unable to win their own ball.

It depends on how we define 'that bad', but Green has - IMO - had a poor season.

In the last 2 years he took some ripper marks jumping into packs in defence. A moment later he would be down the other end of the ground kicking an important goal. These are two major factors of his game that are missing this year.

More than anything else, i think this really puts into perspective how good Jnr was

Yes, sorry there have been games this year where we needed a lift and he has missed easy goals, gone missing or just stuffed up.
