I guess we're going to have to.

Uh oh. Clicked the wrong one I guess. And there aren't any other dates available before the season kicks off, except for next Thursday, but the chances of people being available on a Thursday for 2.5-3 hours straight is low (I for one am unlikely to have that time).

I guess I can change it to a 'slow' online draft, but reduce the pick time to try to simulate a live online draft.

I'll set it for Sunday at 10.00, as we were going to do it, but it's not going to technically be 'live'. I've got the minimum pick time, which is 5 minutes. Unfortunate, but that's how it has to be. My management of this whole thing has been shocking, so this is just the cherry on the cake.

Hopefully the 15 of us will be pretty much ready to go on Sunday so we can at least shorten the time taken. But make sure you've put in a pre-set list of rankings.

Draft won't run on uneven numbers, I made that mistake last year.

Good. But don't look at the stats* too much, you'll think negative thoughts (kidding). Take it on face value and essential ranking (= gut feel). :)

*The stats should assist anyway.

Gut feel probably wouldn't work in your favor, you are asking me to trade away 2 dees after all.

Not sure 9 reserves will be enough to see out the year with all the byes and injuries. 34 is probably the ideal team size this year.

We need 1 more, anyone keen?

We've got less than 2 hours to find a 16th member or we're in serious trouble, as the draft won't run if we have an odd number of teams 2 hour before the draft starts.

I'm going to send out some PMs to people who seemed to be interested last year, but really, if anyone's reading this, and you wouldn't mind being a part, PLEASE JOIN!!!!!!!!!!

League name: Demonland Mk 2

League ID: 351891

Password: demons

Sorry I joined your league. I'm already im the first one but given someone was leaving their run late i've decided ill take up the last place. If someone desperately wants to play I can give them my password so they can take over the account but at least your league is up and running now.

OK, well we have 16 now so it's all systems go.

I've changed the time of the draft again (I promise this is it): 11.00 tomorrow morning. 5 minutes between picks. Make sure you've set some pre-draft rankings, or at least are comfortable with the fact that if you don't, or your list is exhausted before the draft finishes, the system will pick for you.

I can only see 15 still. Do you have 16 on your league screen titan?

Can anyone else see 16 teams, I've got 15 on my league screen and we've got 45 minutes to even it up.

Far out, someone dropped out. We definitely had 16 yesterday.

So once again we need someone to sign up.

If there's anyone who's in the league who doesn't want to take part anymore, the other option is for that person to drop out to bring the number down to 14. Not a preferable solution, but this draft is never going to happen unless we get even numbers, and soon.

Have signed up - don't think i can do a draft during a weekday, but i'm happy to pre-rank my players.

Have you? There are still only 15 teams in the league.

Details are:

If someone joins soon (i.e. in the next hour or so) we can do the draft this afternoon.

Edit: Yes, you have, I can see you. So we still have one more spot open.

You've signed up but we're still at 15, another must've dropped out. Would love to get this underway today but it's not looking good.

ok, i'll drop out - but will be around online this afternoon if needed.

We've got 14 titan, how soon can we get this thing going?

Cheers IWAP, hope it stays at 14 till we get underway.

DRAFT BEGINS AT 1.00PM TODAY!!!!!!

Thanks to IWAP for falling on his sword, appreciated. To ensure we don't end up with 15 I've made 14 the maximum, so that'll be it now (unless someone else drops out, in which case I will scream and smash this computer into billions of pieces).

I know this is rushed and some (maybe all) of you may not be available today but this league is just not going to happen if we don't do this draft today. Hopefully some/all of us have some pre-draft rankings so if you can't make a pick you will at least get someone decent.

Picks take 5 minutes, so hopefully most of us are online at once and we can speed it up. Otherwise it might take a while. The draft will run until 11.00 tonight, and if need be will re-open at 9.00am tomorrow.

Seems like some people aren't online, and picks are being skipped...not entirely sure how to fix that...

Edit: seemed to fix itself.

Edit 2: Also, going last sucks.

Apologies guys, I missed my first 14 picks - I live in London so completely had the times out of whack. Am on it now!

My team so far:

B: R. Shaw S. Fisher B. Johnson

HB: B. Guerra H. O'Brien .......

C: T. Boak L. Montagna J. Lewis

HF: P. Chapman J. Watts A. Didak

F: S. Milne L. Hansen A. Monfries

RR: M. Kreuzer D. Cassisi M. Barlow

INT: D. Hale S. Edwards H. Ballantyne .......

3 days effectively to go (for trading), anymore trading to be done ?? Any proposals ?

HT ... I think I accepted your recent Mattner/Reilly trade proposal by accident. Hit the wrong button and you can see from my message that I'd declined it.

Would you mind reversing it somehow?

Cheers,

RR

I can't reverse it or withdraw it, the site doesn't allow me to do that. I've since replied to your message.

Hit the wrong button ?

edit:

you can vote against it.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
