Sandilands..?

I consider Freo one of the relatively "full of talent" teams.

Not quite Geelong or Collingwood, but still.

What's wrong with big Sandy ? I'm not surprised he went early.

In respect to where they finished i assume they must have talent, but through my victorian eyes i know very little about any of their middle tier/b grade players and consequently wouldnt select them

No, he said they were all from the weaker clubs.

I don't think Sandilands is because I consider Freo relatively talent-rich.

Could get through to the 6th round here....just need the Master, Ox_5 and eth38 here and we could knock over quite a few.

Looks like no one wants to stick around, even when they have a pick coming up.

Talk about dragging it out.

Well I thought so. I counted 7 of us on the thread just after Deez Nutz put in no.39. SOme might be going back to the drawing board after my selections....:)

Roger is still here, he'll submit pretty soon.

Settle down, what's the rush?

I'm sure Old didn't start this thinking everyone would be anchored to their keyboards.

It'll get done.

That's right even the Hawks ask for time extensions.

I know, just keen to get another crack at it.

It's a long time between drinks when your picks are back to back.

I'm here.

I've got this thread open most of the time, and since my BigFooty ban kicked in this afternoon I've been checking it more regularly :)

Ban ? I won't ask.

Roger up.

Rog has been floating around for the last 15 but appears to be gone now.

May have decided to leave his choice til the morning.

Roger up.

It's the sports site I write for. Counted as spam if I share it.

Yet the leader has his own thread on the main section of the AFL board with about 30 posts and 1,000 views, where as mine got roughly 30 views.

Complete bull.

And talking about bull, the site owes me $100.

Nice choice Rog.

Had my eye on that one.

Me too, was tossing up between he and BBBaz, went with Barry because even when he's quiet, at least he's still there.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
