Well, it was inevitable that the NFL might bring this rule in. It's difficult to imagine the impact such a rule change will bring. There is no doubt the League is peering into the future with regards to concussions, litigation and other related issues ...

... NFL may prevent runners from lowering their heads into tacklers

Members of the NFL’s Competition Committee revealed today that they want to see a new rule that would make it a personal foul for either a runner or a tackler to engage in head-first contact with the crown of the helmet when running into each other outside the tackle box.

“The ballcarrier is still going to be permitted to lower his shoulder, and the head is also going to come down to protect the football,” Fisher said. “We’re not taking that part of the run out of the game. What we’re saying is, in space, one-on-one, head-up, we’re not going to allow you to load up and use the crown of your helmet. It’s an obvious thing.”

On harvin going he is a great player but a royal pain in the ass. I'm glad he is gone we can draft more WR with our added first round picks. Plus we made the playoffs without him. Very happy with Jennings (sorry macca) he can play but needs to stay fit. It also adds more unneeded fuel to the packers Vikings rivalry. We signed cassel. A backup who should stay a backup. Ponder is the man. Any big ins or outs for everyone's teams out there?

This new rule will be interesting. I understand the reasoning but it's natural for the ball carrier and secondary to lead with the head.

We lost Jackson to the falcons, which whilst expected was still disappointing. Amendola left for the Patriots, was a little shocked to see him leave, a decent player but injury riddled.

We got Long from Miami and we got Jared Cook from the titans, who is a TE but will prob play more WR for us they are saying.

I remember long coming into the league with huge wraps but Miami being Miami for so long I have not seen him play much is he worth it?

Broncs have Wwweeelllkkkaaaah the grittiest of gritty slots.

One of the stupidest thing to happen for the Dum to end leaving free agency to the Ravens (!!!!!!) will hurt an already average D. The secondary needs lots of work with Champ not so much.

Overall it will still rest with one of the greatest regular season QB's but really scratchy playoff players.

He was pro bowl in his first 4 years out of his first 5, wasn't last year, TBH, I don't remember seeing many dolphins games either.

This from the rams site.

- Long went to the Pro Bowl in each of his first four seasons with the Dolphins, quickly establishing himself as one of the game’s dominant offensive tackles. He’s been hit by injuries a bit in the past two seasons but has only missed six games in his five-year career.

Pro bowl....... isn't that a fan voted event? :)

Yeah, but they are usually the best that get voted through.

On a side note, I just received my home top with Bradfords name and number on it in th post

On top of the wife buying this for me she also got me a LA Rams hat!!! It's from th nostalgic range

Draft is 25th April.

It's link shows all the teams in draft order

http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0ap1000000143400/article/2013-nfl-draft-order

KC will probably go with the popular pick in Luke Joeckel. With Andy Reid and Alex Smith on board, they could be a team to look out for.

Did I read somewhere that the 49ers have 13 picks in the first 6 rounds of the draft ? As if they're not strong enough already! ...

Yeah, what's the bet he'd end up at Casey.

Complete with his gridiron gear on. Melbournised

They would make AP lose weight and tell him not to run and carry the ball. JJ watt would be told playing a physical style of footy is not his strong point and the manning brothers would have been traded for Matt castle

It's a bit sad when you already find yourself hangin' out for the NFL practice games. Not sure if I could handle a loss against GWS. It could completely do my head in if that happens.

The MFC can count themselves lucky the NFL season is not about to begin. I couldn't imagine my care factor if the Vikings were up and running in a few weeks. To watch Melbourne get thumped or Vikings Vs Packers? Gee I wonder.

Got a mate who's a Tiger fan and over the years I've often received a text message from him sometime in late April/early May along the lines of "When does the NFL start?"

Sadly, he received a similar text from me after round 1 this season.

I've got all 4 of the Packers playoff games in HD stored on the hard drive from our last Super Bowl win. Been saving them for a rainy day - it rained today !

Yeah I'm the same. Got the 1998 15-1 vikings season on hand. A rookie Moss,Randal Cunningham,John Randle,Chris Carter and Robert Smith. I just don't watch the NFC championship game. It still hurts. But that offense was so fun to watch. It beats the last decade of what the demons have served up. AFL is my outlet but i'm glad I have a outlet from my outlet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMQ4wjVIqpI

Yeah it's our team, then a close go between the Test side and the Packers for next best. After that there's a big gap in terms of manic or strong support for a team. Probably the Australian Olympic team is next then West Ham. The Red Sox and Canucks as well. Out of all that you end up finding some sporting joy! Then there's the NBA .....

That was a good video. Watched the 1st part just then. Got the rest bookmarked for another rainy day :)

Anytime you need a NFL video you tube NFL top ten and there are dozens of top ten draft duds, best and worst teams etc. It keeps me going. I used to be a sabers fan but after the lockout I lost interest. I don't have a baseball team I'm just anti Yankee. I can't stand them.

Nice to see some fellow NFL fans. My wife thinks I am a masochist, as I am a Bengal as well as a Demon lol. Although my Bengals have been better of late and not so much the Bungles.

Our draft will be heavily influenced by what happens with fatboy Andre Smith. The classic breakout season in a contract year. We might end up reaching for someone perhaps Fluker in the first round. If we had re-signed Smith on reasonable money, which is still possible, but less likely as time goes on, I would have thought thatwe go linebacker, safety, running back first three picks. Not sure what order. Now with us looking at Harrison as a vet FA probably substitute tackle for linebacker.

Perhaps you guys take Austin if he is still there? Looks to be able to do a few of the things Percy can, but without the baggage. Although he does seem to be one of the hype players, so he could be long gone. Not a lot of wow factor with the wideouts this draft, but you guys will certainly need to take one at least in the 1st round.

You will probably see the niners burn a few at various stages in the draft as they move up to take players they like Macca. A few teams are already salivating about moving back and getting picks because they have so many needs. I imagine the niners have already had a few calls from fellow GMs along the lines of don't forget about us as a trade partner lol.

Welcome aboard Strafford. Yeah if Austin is still there we will take him or Keenan Allen but I can't see them slipping to us.
