Goff played like a star. Dak is having a better year than last according to many. And Wentz is probably leading the MVP markets. What a draft year for QBs.

It was disappointing. But you did call it. I had more faith in the Packers, and it turns out I got it wrong.

Having said that, I reckon you'll see them use Hundley more now. After all, what else is there to do?

Not sure you're wrong just yet Dappa but we really had to beat the Saints to have any realistic chance of salvaging the season.  Detroit at Lambeau are next up and they'll fancy their chances.  Could be a fierce encounter, all the same.

Anyway,  I've moved on (kinda, sorta) but it's difficult to jump into a different mode so quickly.  At some stage I'll start having a closer look at Hundley but it's always been about winning games and winning the division at Green Bay.

But you've got your 10+ years franchise QB by the looks of it ... he has that look of class about him that separates the gun players from the rest.  The Eagles are now equal 2nd favourites (along with the Steelers @ 8-1) to win the SB,  after starting the season at 60-1.  No prizes for guessing who the favourites are (again)

So when can we talk to you about this first half of your guys' game?

Now :)

We were good from the little I saw, having Joyner back is huge.

Amazing what decent WR’s and an Oline makes. Gurley finds form and gaps, Goff has more time due to decent blocks and due to decent receivers meaning they are rushing much less people.

To shut out the cards was huge.

I'd rather have expectations and then get disappointed with a playoff loss haha

I'm now in 'MFC coached by Neeld mode'  ... anyone want that misery back?

The Pats are showing us how good they can be in this game ... Belichick is the best coach/manager in world sport.

Just like the Pats,  the Falcons will get their mojo back at some stage ... Panthers losing today helps and the jury is out on the Saints.

Well Macca I can sympathise with you but just keep telling yourself “it coulD be worse,  Fisher could be our head coach”

It’s looking good, Wentz was great vs the skins. His arm is huge.

Brady is favourite...

The Steelers are a weird team this year. I don’t think they are that great but they come up with the right plays at the right time.

Chargers finally looked decent which was shite as I tipped Denver who look terrible and their QB... what has happened to him?

so many injuries to QB’s this year. What’s with that?

That doesn't nearly say it. Watched them again, they were basically perfect, even before Palmer went off hurt. These guys had a massive game the week before, and you brought them right back down to earth. What's scary is seeing their D, and run D specifically, rounding into super form. Like they need a defense with that offense.

Wentz's best game yet by far. 17 TDs too. That's crazy number for someone not in the top 5 QBs. As of this week MVP has him in front... Probably Brady still there and Smith too. Hunt as well.

Its hard for me to comment as I see so little of them on redzone.

NFL live asked the question "are tge rams the most rounded team in the NFC" and most agrees with the eagles as well.

Wentz first TD I think it was to the rookie was fantastic.

Yeah,  that closes the argument alright.

Fisher was diabolical and what was it?  5 years?  He makes McCarthy look like a veritable genius.

Yeah. 62 air yards. Biggest in the last two years by any player anywhere. And people knocked on his deep ball pre season.

Check out the power rankings. Rams #2, Eagles #1...In a month or so we'll be seeing Goff vs Wentz late in the season. That will be a massive game.

I worry now about Eagles, down a starting middle linebacker, and Jason Peters who has been lights out. Last year, in the first few weeks Eagles were the same as what you've seen this year early on. Then they lost a tackle to suspension, and Wentz fell off a cliff. Peters out now, plus a few other injuries elsewhere really could limit the Eagles a bit.

So it's on to week 8 (1 point only) ... Atlanta & the Vikings look likely but it gets tough after that (as is normally the case)

All 3 of the evening games are good match-ups and also, the Dallas/Washington game has a lot riding on it.  So too the Oakland @ Buffalo encounter.  It's a reasonably good round of games this week.

Yeah... I still cringe and feel ill.

I still don’t know how it went on so long other than all the poor performances made the move to LA much easier.

I’m not even looking that far ahead ?

Got a week off then the giants away. I’ll try and keep just on that.

Peters will be a massive loss. Wentz arm is a genuine weapon.

How much is the improvement of the Rams offense down to the new OC Matt Lafluer ? @Gorgoroth I was spewing Atlanta didn't promote him from QB coach to replace Shanahan... Seems he's doing a pretty good job

I think its a combo of better line, better recievers, and the play calls being well called and well executed. Unfortunately they are not on foxtel enough for me to comment too much but all areas on O have improved and Lafluer and McVay are big part of that.

Was wondering why the Vikes are 9.5 favourites and then realised that it's another London game - but we are talking about the Cleveland Browns.

Anyway,  Minnesota are the 'road' team so you can include them in your tips.

Panthers

Dallas

Oakland

Vikes

Raiders

Panthers

Anyone considering Atlanta, dont. Jets will roll us.

Edit: Actually, no think we'll get back on track this week... Everyone should tip them;)

Well,  Alonso can't know for sure whether Flacco is going to keep running and he definitely doesn't know when Flacco is going to give himself up either.  He's committed and can't stop himself in midstream either.

I had no problem with the defensive player who tackled Rodgers and one could argue that the tackle on Rodgers was later than the Alonso hit on Flacco.

By the letter of the law it's a penalty and he'll probably cop a fine.  As for a suspension,  not for mine.

By the way,  do we all think that the Jets are going to win?  ha ha

Edit: Just noticed that Clintosaurus has picked the Falcons

I'm with you. I reckon it was just a classic case of a linebacker passionately and single-mindedly keeping a player from the first down marker. Which is why he defended himself so much. I feel like you have to ping him in some way shape or form because late hits on QBs are a plague... but nothing more. I really don't think it was dirty. The things they expect of these footballers in such short periods of time. When you watch it in real time... it's ridiculously close.

Second part... It's starting to look like a lot of people think Jets win. I can't think of a better example of how weird and wonderful the NFL is. The team that 7 weeks ago was fielding 0-16 win-loss bets is now seriously being talked about as a winner against the team who had the Patriots more than two scores down in the third quarter of the last Superbowl.

It's adjudicated in real time but it looked bad because Flacco's helmet flew off.  Alonso did not lower his helmet and lead with it either - that's a whole other issue when that happens.

To be honest, I just saw it as a normal football play - it's adjudicated differently though.  The message for the QB's is quite simple - you go out of the pocket and you're fair game (within reason of course)

Mike & Mike chat about it here in the first hour of their show (the show isn't on ESPN tonight)

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
