Anyone see Beckham Jr. lose his marbles and try and take out Josh Norman from Carolina? He is likely to get suspended which is horrible cause we play them next week ?. We all know wildcard teams can win the whole thing and the two best teams right now in my eyes are Pittsburgh and Seattle. Both offenses are putting up big numbers and I wouldn't want to be playing them first up in the playoffs.

Your game against the Giants has been flexed to SNF but if Washington defeat Philadelphia (@ the Eagles) on Saturday night the Giants will be out of the playoffs already (think that's right)

MNF is Cinci @ Denver whilst the the early game on Monday (our time) on 7mate is the Patriots @ Jets followed by the late game of Packers @ Arizona ... not a bad line-up of TV games all up ... week 16 games

At least we'll be able to watch the games next Monday (save for anyone who has to work)

Edit: Odell Beckham Jr. suspended for a week but he's sure to appeal ... could be reduced to a heavy fine if his appeal is successful.

Didn't understand what all this talk was about Carolina players bringing bats onto the field.. Just saw the vision of Marcus Ball of the panthers carrying a baseball bat onto the field during the warm up and walking towards Odell Beckham JNR, Josh Norman was also said to have the bat at one point.. Think that's pretty bad look from the panthers. It's been mentioned sides have done it before... Don't see how the NFL doesn't have a rule in place for this and the Panthers should be fined for it

If Seahawks win or Atlanta lose or we win one of our last 2 games we get in I think. On the upside for your blokes is Mcarthy is calling plays again and believe it or not the #2 seed is still up for grabs if you can beat Arizona. Beckham deserves his suspension but on precident he might get off because I saw a steelers player line someone up and nearly take his head off this week.

Yep, if Seattle and Vikes win either one of their remaining 2 Atlanta is out. We also have to beat the panthers lol and saints. Strange system if it did turn out that way as a 3 way tie that the head to head isn't taken into account so the Vikes win over Atlanta earlier in the season doesn't matter... Still im not even going to bother trying to watch us against Carolina this week as I'm away, that's how much chance we have!!

I hope we smash the Seahawks.

A win of any sort will do me Gorgoroth :)

The way we are playing and the way they are... Don't hold your breath.

but, we normally do ok vs div rivals. If we had our full D in id give us a chance, but missing too many to hold them to a low score. I think we will lose 35-13

Happy festivus everyone

washington

pittsburgh

New England

Carolina

Pittsburgh

New England

Steelers
Houston
Redskins

i think the Panthers will rest some players this week.

Raiders got lucky at the end after all this penalties.

Pittsburgh

New England

Carolina

Forgot about the Saturday night game, bummer. Carolina might rest a few but hopefully Cam gets the job done. I'm not tipping Houston with Brandon Weeden starting.

I know it's blasphemy around these parts but happy for the Bears to tank it out the last 2 weeks. Not a lot to be gained from beating Tampa this week.

Falcons! Just to make it more frustrating that we lost winnable games in the second half of the year. Btw so glad 7 decide to put this rubbish 49ers game on rather then their orginal pats/jets game which has gone into overtime

Ha ha pats deferred in overtime...

Haha what were they thinking ? Looks like they made a mistake from the vision I saw... Meanwhile can your boys keep going and keep us alive ?

3rd and 31 then 3rd and 18 and we let the Seahawks score... Seriously... 3rd and 31...

Thank you Rams!! Now to settle in and cheer on these giants and keep the dream alive

RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sack fisher!!!

4-1 in our div with the niners next week.

Week 17 holds a lot of interest after today's results ... any number of the seedings can change. Pittsburgh are the big losers out of today's games and they will now need the Bills to defeat the Jets as well as win their own game against Cleveland (to make the playoffs)

I've already had numerous goes at the ESPN Playoff Machine  but it will be interesting to see how Seattle approach next week's game @ Arizona. They've already clinched a playoff berth and will either play @ Washington or at Minnesota or Green Bay.

Meanwhile, the Vikes need to win today to clinch a playoff spot (and therefore eliminate Atlanta) Currently leading 10 - 0.

As for the Packers - the good news is we can't play any worse and at least we're in the playoffs ... with Rodgers at the helm we're always a chance but right now, we'd be doing well to win 1 playoff game.

Packers were terrible.

Vikes are smacking the Giants, absolutely smacking them.

cards looked better if that is somehow possible.

steelers looked like they were out of ideas when there go to plays did not work.

Jets looked good and I hope they make the playoffs.

Wow. Any given Sunday stuff today. Fantastic.

Michael Bennett said it best about the rams: "The Rams, they play good football against us. They just don’t play good football against everybody else."

Surely the Pats wanted to take the wind, which is fair enough. It's unlikely either team score a TD on the first series of OT in a 20/20 game, take the wind knowing you'll have an advantage in the subsequent field goal battle. Belichick doing the team thing by not hanging out his player, although you have to wonder why Brady doesn't do the coin toss?

AFC: Think Denver wins tomorrow to get in, win out for the 2 seed. Cincy the 3 seed, Baltimore might trouble them next week either way. Houston lock up the 4 seed. KC the 5. Then I think the Jets can do it and get the 6, although Jets - Bills should be a ripper.

NFC: Carolina and Arizona probably win. Seattle stays in the 6 seed. Washington are the 4 obviously. When it comes down to it will either of the Vikings or Packers want to win next week?? I'd take Washington away over Seattle at home.

GRRM, I said something similar earlier in the season.

We are 4-1 vs NFC West, 3-7 vs the rest of the NFL.

We should beat the niners which makes us 5-1 only with a loss to the cards. With those sort of divisional numbers we should be in the play offs. But we aren't. Send we are so focussed on our Div that we can't match others. Which is even if we finish 8-8 we are still going no where and Fisher needs to go.

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Having convincingly defeated last year’s premier and decisively outplayed the runner-up with 8.2 in the final quarter, nothing epitomized the Melbourne Football Club’s performance more than its 1.12 final half, particularly the eight consecutive behinds in the last term, against a struggling St Kilda team in the midst of a dismal losing streak. Just when stability and consistency were anticipated within the Demon ranks, they delivered a quintessential performance marked by instability and ill-conceived decisions, with the most striking aspect being their inaccuracy in kicking for goal, which suggested a lack of preparation (instead of sleeping in their hotel in Alice, were they having a night on the turps) rather than a well-rested team. Let’s face it - this kicking disease that makes them look like raw amateurs is becoming a millstone around the team’s neck.

  • CASEY: Sydney

The Casey Demons were always expected to emerge victorious in their matchup against the lowly-ranked Sydney Swans at picturesque Tramway Oval, situated in the shadows of the SCG in Moore Park. They dominated the proceedings in the opening two and a half quarters of the game but had little to show for it. This was primarily due to their own sloppy errors in a low-standard game that produced a number of crowded mauls reminiscent of the rugby game popular in old Sydney Town. However, when the Swans tired, as teams often do when they turn games into ugly defensive contests, Casey lifted the standard of its own play and … it was off to the races. Not to nearby Randwick but to a different race with an objective of piling on goal after goal on the way to a mammoth victory. At the 25-minute mark of the third quarter, the Demons held a slender 14-point lead over the Swans, who are ahead on the ladder of only the previous week's opposition, the ailing Bullants. Forty minutes later, they had more than fully compensated for the sloppiness of their earlier play with a decisive 94-point victory, that culminated in a rousing finish which yielded thirteen unanswered goals. Kicks hit their targets, the ball found itself going through the middle and every player made a contribution.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

Hands up if you thought, like me, at half-time in yesterday’s game at TIO Traeger Park, Alice Springs that Melbourne’s disposal around the ground and, in particular, its kicking inaccuracy in front of the goals couldn’t get any worse. Well, it did. And what’s even more damning for the Melbourne Football Club is that the game against St Kilda and its resurgence from the bottomless pit of its miserable start to the season wasn’t just lost through poor conversion for goal but rather in the 15 minutes when the entire team went into a slumber and was mugged by the out-of-form Saints. Their six goals two behinds (one goal less than the Demons managed for the whole game) weaved a path of destruction from which they were unable to recover. Ross Lyon’s astute use of pressure to contain the situation once they had asserted their grip on the game, and Melbourne’s self-destructive wastefulness, assured that outcome. The old adage about the insanity of repeatedly doing something and expecting a different result, was out there. Two years ago, the score line in Melbourne’s loss to the Giants at this same ground was 5 goals 15 behinds - a ratio of one goal per four scoring shots - was perfectly replicated with yesterday’s 7 goals 21 behinds.
This has been going on for a while and opens up a number of questions. I’ll put forward a few that come to mind from this performance. The obvious first question is whether the club can find a suitable coach to instruct players on proper kicking techniques or is this a skill that can no longer be developed at this stage of the development of our playing group? Another concern is the team's ability to counter an opponent's dominance during a run on as exemplified by the Saints in the first quarter. Did the Demons underestimate their opponents, considering St Kilda's goals during this period were scored by relatively unknown forwards? Furthermore, given the modest attendance of 6,721 at TIO Traeger Park and the team's poor past performances at this venue, is it prudent to prioritize financial gain over potentially sacrificing valuable premiership points by relinquishing home ground advantage, notwithstanding the cultural significance of the team's connection to the Red Centre?
