Vikings have released images of the plans for the new stadium. It has a glass ceiling. If it collapses like the metrodome did it could bloody hurt. I don't know why they didn't make it a open stadium. I've seen the old days before the metrodome where players said it is nigh impossible for opposition players to get used to Minnesota conditions.

Here are the images ... looks cool and all very 21st Century!

... Vikings new stadium

The building is ugly I reckon.

As long as AP is in it I don't care. But it does kinda look like something the transformers would live in.

The purple people eaters would be handy about now. I reckon it is about the fans, especially if the move to change the blackout rule gets up.

What's this change Stafford?

John McCain has moved a bill whereby teams with stadiums built with public money will not be able to exercise the TV blackout rule. Not sure if it will get up, as the NFL and the owners have pretty powerful lobby groups.

Here are some more images of the new vikings stadium.

This thread has gone quiet:)

Only 11 days to go!

Ha. Go tiger cats?.... :)

Apparently this is what they might be talking about. Not sure I'd 'pet' it. Gruesome little creature ...

Tell you what though, if the CFL was on cable, I'd probably be watching :-)

Can't keep him out of the news ...

... Sources: Pats to sign Tim Tebow

Patriots coach Bill Belichick often has spoken with admiration for Tebow's versatility, intelligence and character. Belichick covets what he has described as tough, smart, versatile football players.

Tebow, 25, figures to compete with Ryan Mallett for a backup job behind Brady. The Patriots also released reserve quarterback Mike Kafka on Monday.

Tebow a pat is odd who is the pats back up QB? I read that former high draft pick Jamarcus Russell is trying out with a couple of teams as well.

Probably a good fit for Tebow. There isn't any doubt who the starting QB is so his legion of fans can't agitate to make him the no 1. If he is as good a locker room guy as most say he is then why not I guess.

On my Bengals front. Our big boy right tackle Smith has scored his new contract and gone awol with private issues. The guy loves a feed so we may need to start moving him around with a forklift once he turns up.

The Bengals off season curse has struck again. Adam "Pacman" Jones has been involved in another incident in a career packed with them. He claims a woman threw a bottle at him in a night club and he then slapped her. Camera footage seems to show him hitting the woman after she poured a drink on him. Lovely. Just when we have signed up for the show Hard Knocks again. I'm sure the film makers are loving it....sigh.

Sure bengals don't wear red and blue?

To be brutally honest the number of stuffups from the Bengals in regards to admin, drafting, supporter relations, off-field player dramas etc etc over the years actually makes the Dees look good in comparison. Hopefully for the Bengals our improvements in a number of areas fairly recently can overcome this latest setback. Recruiting Adam Jones was pure idiocy given his track record before he came to us and a huge risk regardless of his guilt or innocence in this matter. He may have learned to hide his spots a bit better, but in my view the guy was and still is a psycho.

Vikings sign a free agent middle linebacker from guess where? Green bay. Bishop signed for one year. Read a good comment when someone asked what do you call a Viking with a superbowl ring? A former Packer.

Tony Kornheiser seems convinced that Tim Tebow will be used by the Patriots as a tight end.

Given the events of the last few weeks, they might have to!

And Brady will throw him a pass right down the middle to get him cleaned up and knocked out in the first pre season game. That will sort out any "Tebowmania"

This article about the Raiders - which in turn reportedly cause the son of the legend Mark Davis to sack his own PR guy - highlights the dysfunctional nature of the team and you can see a lot of similarities to our problems. I'm not sure though if Reggie McKenze is the Mark Neeld coming in and making things worse or the Peter Jackson who has come in to make things better. And maybe Hue Jackson was the Mark Neeld and Carson Palmer can star as David Rodan,

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
