And we've got some Australian representation in the SB with Michael Dickson as Seattle's punter (and holder)

A 29yo, originally from Sydney and as a teenager, was in the Swans academy

He is the highest paid* punter in the NFL and has previously held the record for the highest average punt distance

*Currently in his 1st year of a 4 year contract at Seattle worth $16.2Million (overall)

That means NE will win due to the Aussie punter curse!

Not for us passionate NFC Westers.

Obviously watching though

Yep, a Divisional rival vs no one's 'other' favourite team (NE)

It's like watching Coll vs Ess on Anzac day!

But either Darnold or Maye will be SB Champs ... who would have thought?

And I know it's 10 years ago, but I'd still be dirty if I was a Seattle fan on the back of somehow losing that SB back then

The opposition (N.E) did not want Seattle to hand the ball off to Marshawn Lynch, so what do Seattle do?!!

Our very own 'Diamond Jim' Tilbrook played as a punter for the Portland Storm in 1974 in the short-lived 'World Football League'

He was later 'considered' by the New York Jets!

I do think this will be a great game. The unexpected ones usually are.

You can't live down plays like that and you certainly can't get them back. My god that was a great SB.

I think Maye has enough throwing ability to stretch the Seattle D like the Rams did, but I think he will be under a lot of pressure.

Pressure to Darnold and holding their run game without loading the box will be what the Pats will be aiming for.

I'm a sucker for the Drake Maye story.

Born in Charlotte, big Panthers fan. NC in College.

Went to Superbowl 50 at Levis in 2016 to see his Panthers lose to the Broncos. 10 years later, he's back at the same stadium for Superbowl 60 as a starting QB.

I would like to see an Aussie punter at NFL level and whose surname isn't Mcguire win a Superbowl.

Right now the process is make a team, be lucky enough to get to a Superbowl, lose it, get cut, then do NFL betting ads back in Oz...

In the lead up to the SB, I'll post up a few 'Mic'd Up' extended highlights of previous SB's

Starting off with NE / Atlanta from 2017 (Super Bowl LI)

Ok, ways that you truly know that America is stupidly cooked....

Bill Belichick did not get enough votes to be a first ballot hall of famer...

WTF?????

Mate.

Bill Belichick not a first ballot HOFer? What's next, A's on Bart's report card?

I reckon Bill Polian still has influence over the voters and probably filled their heads with spygate/deflategate babblings.

That's my conspiracy theory for the day anyway..

100% the gates are a consideration, but he has been "punished" by the NFL already for these.

I don't think he or the pats got punished enough but the NFL deemed what the punishments were and we move on.

To now use to stop Bill making the HoF is ridiculous.

The HOF is losing a bit of relevance lately. Change all the voters I say.

TBH I've given up on them after players like Tory Holt havent made it from the greatest show on turf.

WR is always the hardest, not only are there so many but opinions on what makes a great one vary wildly.

In the 100+ years of the league there have been 31 WRs inducted. Absolute studs like Cris Carter, Andrew Reed had to wait years to get in and I'm sure with it being a passing league for so long we'll see more greats from yesteryear get overlooked repeatedly.

I do think for the record Tory Holt should be in. In any other era he's easily an Owens/Bruce/Harrison. I also think Henry Ellard should be in.

Funny, I read a discussion yesterday from a Rams fan, about the Rams should go chase Maxx Crosby.

Then on todays NFL Live Dan Orlofsky said the same thing.

Later I read that AD99 was so pumped at 3/4 time if the rams allowed him to go on the field he would have...

Get AD99 back, Get Crosby and give me the superbowl!!!! ha ha

Could you imagine a combination of AD99, Ford, Verse, Fiske and Crosby...

Raheem Morris to the niners as DC

Mike LaFleur looks like he will the Cards new HC which means Rams once again need a new OC. Most likely promote Nate Sheelhasse from passing game coordinator to OC.

Very happy with Morris as the new DC but isn't he more a 3-4 guy? Could mean our Wide-9 days are numbered.

LaFleur is now official as new Cardinals Head coach. Deserves the shot, he's a talented offensive guy I think and he's done it with average QBs to work with prior to Stafford. Wonder what this means for Kyler Murray? Does he want him and does Kyler want to be there? Time will tell.

Morris was more 3 with us, but he had AD99. I didnt pay much attention to what he did at the Falcons.

LaFleur I think should have waited another year. I would hate to be a new coach with that team vs the Rams, niners and seahawks.
Murray has to go, I don't think he is good enough to take the next step. And I still think he is too small.

I think our D could benefit from a little change up. Never have enough healthy DTs as it is. Would be nice to see another dashing OLB in the mix.

Yeah possibly so, I didn't realise he was only 38. A year or 2 more as an OC would have helped. I'm also not sure he was the Card's first choice but after Kubiak took the Raiders job they had to spread the net a little.

Agree on Murray. Always liked the way he throws and can rip a deep one but 5'10 is a detriment when it comes to seeing over the line and making certain throws. Having said that he'd still terrorise us every time he plays us.

I was reading that if he stays, then LaFleur has a year to see how Murray works and then try and replace him if he doesn't work well.

Murray might be keen to see how the McVay tree style suits him but he could also just bail. Depends on what sort of market is there for him.

Has anyone figured out why this happened? I don't know which hire of Mccarthy was worse, Dallas or Pittsburgh..

The relationship between Aaron and Mike is weird dating right back to draft day in 2005 when a certain 49ers OC was part of the brains trust that passed on him in favour for Alex Smith. He then became GB HC and had the success but didn't end well.

The next stop on the line is this little reunion. Do you see it being a fairytale finish? Answers on a postcard..

I think the Steelers have lost the plot on this one. I wouldnt have gone with him, The game has moved away from his style of game, but maybe McCarthy re invents himself and the steelers, but who is their QB? I cant see Rodgers being any better next year.

Hey @layzie edit your post where you abbreviate Green Bay, that way we dont have to have our posts approved when replying to it 😁

Too late, editing time expired.

I was checking over it for a good couple of minutes after posting, never occurred to me to think of two pretty regular english alphabet letters bext to each other.

Maybe the mods can edit to Green Bay.
