As for the Eagles, they are right in it despite not being at their absolute best today

Philadelphia will be at home next week against the Rams, Vikes or Tampa (if Washington win today the Commanders will be at Detroit next week)

The AFC match-ups are already decided ... Houston @ KC and the Ravens @ Buffalo

very tame. considering the bone jarring contact that's permissible (some huge hits in this game) seems strange to have penalties for nothing contact like that.

Agree it’s not much but it’s unnecessary and he was well over the line, just dont do it.

Washington go for it on 4th and 2 instead of kicking the chip shot… dumb.

Yeah, but it's what they do and it can get them to where they want to get to

We see a ton of teams going for it on 4th down passing up the chance for a field goal these days with Detroit leading the way

The days of just automatically taking the 3 point option are long gone.  Also, on the road, in the playoffs, the road team are almost compelled to try and get TD's

I still vividly remember the Packers (McCarthy) continuously taking the 3 point option against Seattle in an NFC Championship game 10 years ago yet he had Rodgers at the helm. In my view it cost the team victory with his boring, conservative thinking

And a SB opportunity!

The weird bit was that he (McCarthy) was usually all-in with Rodgers

In that game the Packers scored 5* x 3 field goals and only 1 TD whilst Seattle scored 4 x TD's

Packers @ Seattle Jan 15

I can fully understand the modern day thinking but more so when a team is on the road

And not every time, obviously

*On 2 occasions the ball was on the 3 yard line in that NFC Championship game

Washington should have had a PI in the end zone, wasn’t called, then a few plays later Mayfield coughs up the ball.

Washington finally get the TD ... they had enough chances!!

Mind you, the Tampa defence stood up amazingly well

3 points in it!

All here for the Commanders, get 1 yard, run the clock down and chip FG will win it. Can they get that yard?

Geez the pressure on the kicker is huge!

Doink's it in off the right hand upright!

So we now know that Washington go to Detroit next week

And either the Rams or Vikes will be on the road to Philly

Washington can win if they can somehow curtail the Lions scoring power (but I don't like their chances)

And the Eagles match-up will be interesting, either way

Next Week's Schedule (AEDT)

Sun 8.30am  Texans @ KC (-8.5)

Sun 12.00pm Washington @ Detroit (-8.5)

Mon 7.00am  Rams/Vikings @ Eagles (???)

Mon 10.30am  Ravens @ Buffalo (1.5)

Packers never really in it despite getting within 6 points

And the issues are overall (and that includes Jordan Love) ...  we beat the teams we should beat and then struggle against the better teams.  That's been the pattern the past 2 or 3 seasons

Still, that's still a lot better than being a cellar-dwellar but we're not a true contender ... maybe next year

I just don't think we were ever going to get the best version of Jordan Love this playoffs or the Packers for that matter. Those elbow injuries are no laughing matter, especially when you lose feeling in the throwing arm, nothing can replace rest in that situation.

I can't decide whether it looked like Green Bay had hardly played together or had just played 3 days earlier in that game. Defense hung in but it got too much in the end.

Plenty of positives, could use a corner and a pass rusher but have the cap room.

McCarthy and the Cowboys have gone separate ways

That was a fun 5 years..

@layzie Yeah not having feeling in your arm would be fun...

I mean its nigh on the worst injury other than a thumb for a QB I reckon

100%

Especially if it's nerve related, you literally have to just wait to get the feeling back.

Love didn't look right but the Packers had the option of playing Willis

But in all reality, getting past a top outfit like the Eagles on their turf was always a tall order for a team like the Packers

In that situation you need a few things going your way like a pick 6 or recovering a fumble.  Or a magical play or 2, leading to a TD or 2

And none of that happened.  Scoring only 10 points told the story

But the Packers should at least know what they need to do to become a genuine contender

Great start by the Rams!!

no nonsense first drive form the Rams. Their offence looks switched from the get go here
