Yeah I’d love to take the day off, but I’ve gone to casual work so I need to take what I can when I can and Monday’s are usually my busiest day. I have a massive packers fan at work so it’s great to talk nfl with him, but I’ll do the normal avoid everywhere til I get a chance to watch the games.

Yeah ore season, watch for rookies and move on.

Yeah no chance for me either usually always early starts on Mondays. I think this Tunein Premium is my best bet. Or just watching at night like usual.

I can’t even listen and as long as the radio stations don’t suddenly give scores I should be right. I finish at 1pm so home and watching usually by 2pm

That’s very handy. Plenty of time to catch up. I’m usually doing that at 7 :(

I start at 5 so early start early finish. Means I can watch a lot before the wife gets home. I try not to watch NFL the whole time she is home... I fail often...

I should also mention watching at 2 means minimal time for someone to spoil the result. These little things matter :)

I had Cowboys down as a serious scary team this year. I'm not really interested in pre-season, but looking at their list, they're gonna need to find a few guys to do damage this year. Defence might get a bit better with Lee, Taco and Gregory coming in... But offence, gee whiz. Frederick looks like missing most of the season, their WRs aren't big names at all... if Dak or Zeke were to miss time, they'd be in trouble.

No surprise with Rodgers new contract and they're obviously happy with Kizer as the main back-up QB ... 2 good moves all round.

I'm neither here nor there with Hundley - didn't show a great deal but he can get better (at Seattle)

At long last.

Speaking of big time defensive players... any interest in Mack, @Macca?

If there's anything left in the coffers!  Yes.  He's certainly the type of player that we absolutely need.

I'm not as across the Pack as I am NFC East teams, but that was my guess too. The two first rounders are there for a trade too.

Seems they are putting a few eggs into the Terence Williams basket. Also get a feeling they desperately want Tavon Austin to be their surprise packet Swiss Army knife.

I don’t care much for preseason either apart from getting necessary reps. It’s funny because a girl I work with is a Texans fan and she was telling me yesterday how annoyed she was when they missed an extra point to tie and go to overtime last week. I’d rather the 1 point loss anyway in preseason.

Very happy with that Mack trade. Getting back a 2nd round pick makes it not much more than giving up a 1st round pick. Done.

Bears D just went from solid but unspectacular to very exciting and capable of really shutting down other teams. Week 1 in GB might be too early for that but should be able to cause some trouble as the season goes on.

The NFC is loaded.

I’m happy we are not playing him week one vs the raiders tbh.

Sure is.

6 years for Mack. Gee that's a big, big trade. Makes me a little nervous that Big Cox will have to go one day from the Eagles. These big-time D lineman (along with big time OL units) define success across the league. Look at the Eagles. Not much in receiver. Not great corners. Just have all the good stuff in the trenches making mediocre  backup QBs Superbowl MVPs.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’
