Btw that no call on Watkins on 4th & goal for a hold was rubbish. Jones was all over him

Good year overall for the Rams, disappointing night.

good luck JV7.

Yep, not your night tonight Gorg although full credit to the Falcons.  Their big players had an impact and they got better as the game wore on.  Ryan managed the game well for Atlanta.

The Rams will no doubt bounce back although this loss will sting.  The older heads in the organisation need to get around McVay & Goff.

Hard luck Gorg... You are right though, have to be happy with the improvements made in year 1 under McVay,  the future is bright. I think the experience helped the Falcons & like Macca said they controlled TOP. Quinn gets the D playing right at the right time of year again. A foles lead Philly next opens it up a bit

Yeah you guys are playing good D. Ryan will be much better for tonight. Played good solid O. And did so with Jones being solid and Sanu decent.

Gotta sign Donald, make a call on Trumaine Johnson and Watkins.

I think Donald gets 100mil, Watkins re signs. Think Johnson will leave us flr more money.

Not confident about the Jags at all now.

All away teams winning so far...

I’m still coming to terms with today’s play calling. No Jet sweps, don’t think I saw Austin at all... no slants and sod all screens.

It wasn't pretty but the Jags are off to Pittsburgh. I reckon a lot of fans will travel as it is our strongest rivalry (alongside the Colts).

Need to offer more on offence. D was good as always  but vs Steelers the O needs to capatalise on the Ds work.

Panthers-Saints game was good. Panthers were much better than I expected tbh

Falcons 20 @ Philly 16

Titans 10 @ Patriots 27

Jags 13 @ Steelers 17

Saints 23 @ Vikings 20

Falcons @ Saints NFCCG  That'd be huge.

Tipping we might all be tipping the same four teams... Vikes are the only team I'm giving a 50/50 chance too.

I cant see the eagles beating Falcons if Ryan plays smart again this week.

Foles will need to click this week and what faith I had early for him is gone.

AFC is just a warm up for Pats-Steelers unless injuries strike or the Jags D goes up a notch from amazing to exceptional and Bortles has a day out.

Falcons 27 Eagles 17

Patriots 41 Titans 10

Steelers 17 Jaguars 16

Vikings 27 Saints 23

Nagy the Head coach of the Bears.

Seems it was sorted a few days ago. Wonder if McDaniels and Matt Patricia from the Pats get head coaching jobs?

Patricia is the interesting one to me. His d is always solid but yoir opponents are usually trying to keep up with Brady.

Not that a follow college all that much but man the city of Atlanta must have pi$$ed off the footballs somewhere.. First the SB now Georgia blow a 20-7 lead & lose the championship game in OT... Wow

Atlanta 17 @  Eagles 25

Saints 22  @  Vikings 30

Titans 13  @  Pats 35

Jags 16  @  Pittsburgh 23

Eagles over Atlanta? Do you think Foles will put it together o4 more that the Eagles D and special teams will hand it to their O to get it done?

No it's more than I don't believe Atlanta are that good away from their dome - the Rams were inept on the weekend too.  The Eagles all round game is quite good despite Foles not being very good.  If the Eagles use Foles the right way they can still win.

Regardless,  it will probably be a close game and close games are often decided by a fumble/turnover/luck.  The Philadelphia D can hold out Atlanta's O and if they do that they're half-way there.

If the game was being played in Atlanta I'd be picking the Falcons to win by a TD.

ATM, I think Atlanta by a TD but tbh the weather will play a major factor as well.

Atlanta are favoured to win Gorg but -3 is only the equivalent of a field goal so it's more like a toss-up game or as the Americans like to call it ... a pick 'em game.

The Saints/Vikes game is the same ... the result could go either way and that won't be a surprise for the large majority of onlookers.

The Pats should win easily and the Jags biggest issue against the Steelers will be scoring (unless their defence can conjure up some points as they have been doing from time to time)  They might surprise though,  you never know.

I made a case for the Eagles to win a playoff game or 2 (at home) when Wentz went down ... and as you said,  if the weather is inclement and if the game becomes a battle of the defenses,  the Eagles can certainly win.  It's the first game of the four this weekend (8.35am Sunday) but it's the game I'm most interested in as well as the Saints/Vikes game (8.40am Monday)

@Dappa Dan thoughts on this weekend at Philly ? Reckon the Eagles will hit the Falcons with the run. Ajayi ran shreds through us early in the year with Miami... I reckon the noise about Foles is a bit over the top, yeah he's no wentz but he's no slouch. The falcons record against back up QBs since I started follwing them has been horrendous. As the week goes on the less confident I've got.

For some reason I am very bullish about the Jags this weekend.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
