Bolton also won 4-0 this morning to go second, 1 point from the top.

What a good day!

I will get home soon, watch the Sunday night game and have a drink.

Much rejoicing!!!

A 'cuban' is called for as well Gorgo.

As well as all that you've hit the outright lead in the tipping comp

Ha ha, I prefer Dominican Republic cigars to Cubans, although I did purchase a lovely Magnum for NYE.

There's still a total of 6 points up for grabs in the tipping comp including 2 points this week ... another tough week to find 3 clear-cut road wins though.  Still, the comp was never designed to be easy ha ha

Romo being talked about again ... no surprise really, it was only going to take 1 loss like the one Dallas had yesterday.  On top of that, Romo is being paid a hell of a lot of money to sit on the sidelines 100% of the time.

If Prescott starts having another off day in their next 3 games, I can see Romo at least being given some phases during any of those games.  And that may be enough for the switch-back to happen.  Dallas' next 3 - vs Tampa,  vs Detroit then @ Philadelphia.  Jerry will probably find an opportunity for Romo in that string of games.

Some other observations ...

  • Miami, Tennessee & Houston are making claims in the AFC and any of those 3 teams are genuine chances to advance
  • The Broncos might be in trouble - next 3 ... vs Pats,  @ KC,  vs Oakland
  • Pittsburgh are starting to hit their straps - the Ravens can't afford to slip back too far (they play against one another in 2 weeks)
  • The Vikes & Packers stay alive but both teams will need help if either are to advance ... the teams meet each other in week 16.
  • The Giants defence is A1 and they're a real smoky especially if Eli can find his best form
  • Washington & Tampa continue to win games - both teams are realistic wild-card chances ... the Falcons should now win the NFC West with their run home.  Atlanta might even snare the 2 seed.
  • Detroit's next 2 will tell us how good they might be - @ Giants,  @ Dallas.  They can wrap up the NFC North if they win both.
  • Regardless of today's result, Seattle should still be able to secure the 2 seed - next 3 ... vs Rams,  vs Arizona then @ 49ers.  They just had a bad day today and ran into a hot Green Bay.

Once again I can see the vikes at Green Bay for a playoff spot. It's all Detroit's fault 8 times they have been down in the last quarter and come back to win.

We definitely need the Giants to beat Detroit this week ... that's apart from both of our teams needing to win this week as well.  We're running out of games otherwise.

I reckon all 3 games involving the 3 contenders will be close anyway.

Is it just me or has this season been all over the place?

normally by now there are loses of teams that have clinched their division.

no one willing to bet on the Rams for an upset today... Ha ha

Yeah your not wrong, apart from the NFC East (although Giants, Redskins in the WC race) & NFC West & AFC East (Miami still in WC race too) all the divisons are in a tight battle, I was quiet confident when we had a 3 game lead on the Bucs... All of a sudden if we drop 1 of the 2 remaining divison games & the bucs win both the win it. I love this time of year though, on holidays, can watch lots of games & if your in thw playoff race watching other games which have a bearing on your side

On the Rams, they have the wood on seattle & Fishers gone.. Who knows, I'll be rooting for the Rams in the chance we could sneak the #2 seed from Seattle or Lions

I must admit ive been on the buccs bandwagon for a while. I'll be happy if they make the playoffs. But I did think they would not catch the falcons and thought they would get in as a wildcard.

Our own mistakes are killing us.

Not getting the yrd on 4th and 1, fake punt in our own 40.

Missed throw behind a player with no one wothin 10yrds in the end zone.

Backing seattle up in their own 10 and letting them get 29 yrds on 3rd down and long. Penalty for holding 5 yrds from their td.  We go in 3-10 and tbh we have had the better scoring chances.

I hope we get these mistake out and really push Seattle. We need to buy in a WR next year. Britt is doing well but we need a star WR to help Goff, Britt and Gurley.

Terrible call!!! That's an interception all day long which then coats us a TD. All the 50/50 calls have gone in seattles favour.

They always do in Seattle

Tbh, the most frustrating thing on the night was the simple mistakes. And on the first two drives, it killed us and any hope of getting momentum. The D was pretty good all day and really kept us in it innthe first half before getting tired.

AFC

New England - #1 seed

Kansas City - # 2 seed

Wild Card Week:

Miami #6 seed @ Pittsburgh #3 seed

Oakland #5 seed @ Houston #4 seed

NFC

Dallas - #1 seed

Seattle - #2 seed

NY Giants #5 seed @ Detroit #4 seed

There are a lot of variables though ... if any of Tampa, Green Bay, Baltimore, Denver or Tennessee can snag 1 more win against my projections, then any of those teams can make the play-offs.  The Panthers can have a big say in things in the NFC West as they play both Atlanta & Tampa.

One thing that is almost guaranteed is that week 17 will decide a lot of outcomes.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
