Dappa, how long does the draft last?

I might be able to get on for a few mins but not too long.

Can I log in, choose some and then let the rest auto?

Yeah you sure can. It looks like it's gonna be just 4 teams...

I'll set it to have some more options so the draft goes deeper. If nothing else, you get to learn the rough gist of NFL fantasy. I'm in a few different sports for fantasy and the NFL one is the best I reckon.

Okey doke. New setting is 2 QB, 4 WR, 4 RB, 2 Flex... That'll make the draft go deeper. 2 QBs can be dangerous, cos they can score a lot, but that'll be mitigated by the deeper WR and RB lists.

Everything's ready to go. Everyone stay away from Bradford. lol

Sorry Gorgoroth, draft goes for probably 20 minutes depending on how quick people pick. Maybe more if they take their full 1:30

HA! I'll be getting my Murray one this week.

Hahaha. That's good as long as you went with suggestions. The server ranks the players, then looks at the gaps you have and fills them with best available in that position.

So your team is sneaky good. QB, can't go wrong with Brady and Rogers. They'd be top ten in every fantasy league. After Bell and Petersen at 1 and 2 I'd have taken Rogers.

RB you have Lynch and Gore. Sensational. And with Gurley and Mason, I'd pick one and go for that, and the other stays on your bench "cuffed" as they say. Which means he's there in case Gurley gets hurt for the year. That's what the pro fantasy guys do. Foster is massive too. Will only miss 4 weeks then be a top 5 RB again.

WR: Edelman will be Brady's favourite all year after Gronk. Odell Beckham Junior is a superstar. Cobb might miss week 1 but is awesome too, so you're good there.

TE might be your only weakness. You'll need to replace Kelce for bye weeks. He's good though. Solid but not great.

Pretty good draft. [censored] you for Rogers. lol

Yeah I like Kelce, not great but hopefully gets solid numbers.

I think getting Rogers and Brady was good, WR seemed to be hard to pick so I went with some names I thought will be targeted a lot by their QB's

Hopefully my RB's do well, I figured Gurley and Mason will get lots of carries all year, Lynch is a star and Gore is still bloody good.

Yeah that's the trick. The eternal argument. Do you go with a WR1 on a team with a crap QB. Or do you go a WR2 on a team with Rogers throwing. When recruiting WR, you actually recruit the QB throwing to the guy somewhat. That's what makes players like Evans tantalising. No one throwing to him, but still gets huge numbers.

Did I go too early on the Texans D?

I was actually trying to open it to select JJ WATT, I now realise that can't be done ?

  • Author

Actually if the league players prefer you can choose certain positions. DP or defensive player is one. JJ Watt would have gone very high cos he's a gun... but not as high as you were looking for him because technically when he gets his offensive TDs they don't count. Which is [censored] I reckon.

You might have gone a bit early, yeah. But as I said in the chat thread, it makes a lot of sense in that you can only have one Defense in our league, and Seattle and Texans are the only ones that are must haves. Any others, Bills/Rams etc are a bit more speculative. So to be honest, you'll be glad week in week out to have them. I've seen Defenses score in the twenties.

Will be interesting, I've tried to move a few players around who won't play this week, like mason and Gurley, but will have them back in Tuesday night for the next weeks games.

Colts

Packers

Panthers

My first round pick looking like the most important player in the league. Grooooooooooonk.

My first round pick looking like the most important player in the league. Grooooooooooonk.

I've got him in a keeper league where he is worth 1 round earlier than last year. Drafted him in the 13th round 5 years ago - also got Matt Ryan in the 14th round in his rookie year. Makes drafting much easier each year.

Brady and Edels did well for me. Quiet second half but nine receptions for 97 yards is decent.

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
