I am still waiting to hear from tassie dee, but I understand the problems. We still have no coach, but none of the other sides ever try. And we have a few coaching irons in the fire. Umpys are in place, and bomberblitz have a super squad, so we are assured of at least one tough contest, even if the saints and pies run out of organising time. Great to see doggo back. Here is the updated list:-

Date: sunday, october 10...

Time: 12pm...

Venue: Victoria Park...

Versus : nick's pies site, saintsational, bomberblitz...

Format: to be confirmed ("tbc")...

each game 2 x 20 minute halves

team 1 v team 2

team 3 v team 4

losers play

winners play

Players: supermercado, demon tingles, wise (captain), the russian, roost it, rollo2, junior, madness, melbournefc, david, deemitch, scotty, the stynes factor, ucanchoose, wolfmother, charlesy, dumbo, heater, kingsley, junior2, travis, funky41, swooper, pudge, rio, smitta, doggo (dragging one leg :) )...

emergencies: bennythejet, Demon Hill...

Players tbc: wise guy sam, DeezMan, grant, jacko, paolo, tarzan16...

Apologies (players): wonnabeeri, mickrocks1, dazzledavey36, pringle, E25, freak, carn dees, grimes4, toot182, benno, bananas, joeyjimjams, tassie dee...

Coaches: (gasp, no takers yet!)...

Apologies (coaches): whispering jack, redleg...

Helpers: rollinson 65, DemonRevival, tassie dee, Demon Hill,...

Helpers tbc: diesel, toot182...

Apologies (helpers): dee knees, rivvo, jacko13, brettmcg...

Umpires: 2 quality umpys from the VAFA...

Players and helpers please post on here and I will update the list as required. Dons have had a terrible season and the guys on bomberblitz are jumping out of their skins to put together a team that can knock us off...

I nominate Wolfmother to be coach!

He's got worse hammy's than Garry Lyon and Stephen Tingay combined. So he'll only last a few quarters out there anyway!!

If I snap any bones this time then I'm definately retiring and joining the commentary booth. Until then I'll be dominating the backline again thanks very much.

second that nomination...

we need to have somebody there to drag the captain if he mangles too many people... :)

will never forget wolf's last game against talkingcarlton, when it was him and you and tassie dee who turned it around in the guts when the game was there to be won or lost...

Hmmm, I'm warming to WJ's idea of captain/coach.

Rollo you'll be comforted to know that I'm saving the fury for the following week - when I'll line up for the China Reds in the Asia Champs in Shanghai. That's going to get willing...

If I'm getting remembered for turning a game around I might hang up the boots as it won't happen again...

With my fitness and hamstrings happy to coach as long as DR is the assistant ( just in case I get the urgeto run on for five minutes :)

Don't think DR will have a problem with that, wolf, but I will let him speak for himself...

Fitness is a definate issue for me Wolfmother, so ruck is out of the equation. I'd prefer somewhere in the forward line where feigning an injury when I don't chase hard enough won't cost us a goal

Tarzan won't be an issue... Rollo is offline for a few days.

I've updated the original thread for the new positions

good job, wolf...

I am back on line, and will definitely be there Sunday...

I will spend the next few days checking out the opposition, getting definite commitments from the umpys, finalising the format etc...

Hey Rollo,

My mate Benn (who has played in a forum game couple of years back) is interested in coming down for another run this year. He's a big bloke with a nice left boot, and can play forward or back. I understand the numbers are looking pretty good, but he's happy to sit on the bench and just be used as needed; same deal as me really.

Have we got a ruckman this year? I'm happy to pinch hit in the ruck rotating thru the pocket, but my fitness and leap has been affected pretty badly by the knee and quad injuries, so playing a full match in the ruck this time round isnt really an option.

Hope that's cool..

Regards

Doggo

Hey Rollo, Tassie Dee here sorry for the delay.

I will be able to come down and help out however wont be playing as I broke my ankle in footy earlier in the year. Also have two mates who are interested in a run again, Nat and Adam.

See you Sunday

great stuff, mate...

the organisers were only holding back because whispering jack had offered to sell his daughters to find us a coach, and we thought to let him have first dibs... :)

I am an enormous rugolo/hopgood fan and I, for one, applaud your efforts...

I was great Mates with Joe & Frank, back in the day, & it sounded like something Frank would jump at. I thought it would be a thrill for our Boys to have an Ex DEE, down there beside them.
