Was out of radio and tv range for the weekend... came stright home and just watched the replay

Fantastic game.

I just cannot wait until we get Jurrah, Davey, Bennell, Jetta and Wona all fit and firing in side!!

What an excitement machine we will be

LOVE IT!!!

Agreed.

We have five very exciting players, with the added bonus that they are all completely different in style. I love watching every one of them.

I'll add to that that I think people are a little hard on Wona over his weight. Unlike the other guys, he is not slightly built. He is a canonball on legs. He will always look stocky compared to Bennell, Davey and Jurrah. That doesn't mean he's too unfit to play. A lot of that bulk is solid muscle. It's part of what makes him such a strong competitor. He's a very powerful unit in a compact body.

Fantastic point, RM. I'd never thought of them in these terms. Certainly all great to watch.

Ralph if you look at him tho you can see the love handles under his jumper.

He could prob lose 5 kilos I reckon and still be stocky.

Maybe it should be us playing the indigenous round on a Friday night. Richmond looked great with their whopping ZERO indigenous players against Essendon!!

Love the "brotherhood" at the oldest club in Australia.

Shane Edwards isn't indigenous?

Can't wait to see Aussie and LJ up forward, Jetta through the middle or forward, Bennell probably half back or wing maybe forward as well and Davey leading the boys running through the middle.

Very exciting indeed!

Wonna was some way off full fitness and also some way off an exceptable AFL level of fitness. I think he is about a month away from being fit enough to make a four quarter impact.

Nevertheless I was very impressed with Wonnas game. He did not get much of it but every touch was clean, his kicking sublime and great to see he had not lost a yard. I had forgotten how good he was.

I expect him to play the next two/three games at Casey to regain match fitness, hopefull he will be back for QB.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
