INJURY LIST - ROUND 11

Sam Blease (leg) indefinite

Simon Buckley (groin) 4-6 weeks

Colin Garland (foot) indefinite

Rhys Healey (quad) 1 week

James McDonald (knee) test

John Meesen (foot) indefinite

Austin Wonaeamirri (knee) 3-5 weeks

As usual, we have a player who was injured at the weekend but not accounted for on the official injury list. Jake Spencer was injured in the first five minutes at Casey and the injury could be anything because I've read about three different diagnoses.

Simon Buckley is our current 426 man.

He is in massive trouble IMO.

Will be lucky to keep his spot on the list next year.

Unfortunate, but you may be right, depending on contract status.

I love the way he takes the game on with his blistering pace, but, if he does have the dreaded OP, which has been suggested, then his power thru the legs will be significantly diminished, thus affecting his speed and depth of kicking. These are his 2 weapons, especially his pace, and without it, i'm not sure he brings much else to the team. Interesting times ahead for Bucks.

Growing up a passionate Melbourne supporter, i know he'll be completely shattered if he is delisted at season end, so for his sake i hope he can get up and play some good footy later in the year.

Someone told me Dean Bailey said on radio last night that Wonna is 3 weeks away from resuming.

Agree. Not a huge loss though.

Agree time is running out, and if we are still on track for a priority pick bucks could be a little unlucky at the end of the year. wheatly is the biggest concern is he fully fit? I thought he may have still been injured

Sucha disappointing season for wonna. He was flying preseason and looked so fit and trimmed down. Hopefully he can get back for a few games at seasons end to get him fired up again for another hard preseason.

Wheatley has played the last 2 weeks for Casey Reserves, building up his game time to 80% last week. You'd think he'd step up to Seniors at Casey this week, and even though last year was his best for quite a while, you'd think this year may well be his last on our list unless he very quickly turns things around (contract status notwithstanding)...

I would be surprised if this year is not Wheatley's last year.

Bucks may be unlucky come year end.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
