I thought both Dunn and Petterd spent time on Le Cras, who got a couple of easy goals when left unattended.

I only remember Grimes giving up 1 goal from a direct one-on-one battle with him?? Although it was hard to tell, because the defence became a bit of a mess once Frawley and Rivers finished up.

Does Jack Grimes' kick in turnover count to his disposal efficiency? Unless the defender plays on he doesn't receive a kick in his stat count when kicking out after a behind.

For a 2nd gamer Grimes was very good under a lot of heavy fire. The West Coast forward line had much better service than ours.

I thought Frawley was on LeCras then Grimes went onto him and he cut loose.

Bate was infinitely better on Sunday than he's been in almost any other game this year , thus my ' optimism ' that he may have turned the corner .

IMO Bruce was outstanding on Sunday , and yes he made a few errors , NOT ' turning the ball over constantly ' .

The outstanding aspect of Grimes' game on Sunday was that he turned the ball over at crucial times . I haven't denigrated his overall performance on the day but merely referred to the standout aspect of his game in my 3 word analysis

Sorry, but herein lies the problem with the three word analysis.

Some of you will be glad to know this is my final post.

I have been warned that I shouldn't flame or troll posters.

So I won't

MFC had 22 then 20 players that busted a gut for four quarters, most made a clanger or two and were desperately unlucky not to come away with a well deserved win.

But obviously there is no pleasing some people, as the criticism immediately rears it head again.

It is a very sad state of affairs.

I for one watched the game and came away satisified that everybody put in, that's all I need and can now look forward to the Bulldogs game

Hope you reconsider your situation 'Petjudhome'. As I said before in a recent post you bring a lot of sanity and fair-mindedness to this forum. Keep expounding your thoughts without criticising other posters.

Doesnt it say something about the patience of our Coaching staff when Addam Maric had a horror run last week and they left him on the ground & openly encouraged him to work his way through it. Rewards came this week.

Moloney would be sensational if he kicked the ball half as high as he does, inclined to "bomb"it a bit. Cannot fault his committment.

Did like Bennell & Grimes.

Matty Warnock is quietly becoming a nver valuable player down back. Near top 1% each week. Need blokes like him and Frawley & Rivers.

Quietly worried about Brock Mac's pace.Still admire his grunt.

We still need to improve our "single grab"possession rate. Geelong get away with their game by eliminating fumbles.

Sure, but I do think it's easy to be patient when you're in Melbourne's situation - there's nothing to lose.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
