Bumbers - you beauty!

My brother is a Bomber, and he will now be insufferable for quite some time  ......

But I really have to say that the lesser of two evils definitely came out on tops today.

Surely the knives are hanging looser and looser over the top of Malthouse's head?

Mmm.

I was hoping that they would figure out a way for both to lose but if it had to be only one then I can deal with todays result.

I would have preferred a draw. ;)

And then both miss the eight by half a game.

Still its always good to see a knife plunged into the Pies.

One of lifes great pleasures is reading the Collingwood forums after they lose a close one! (Those god damn umpires, am i right?!?!?!111)

the best thing about collingwood essendon games...someone has to lose

Good call. As much as we love to rag on them while they're down, it's a good win for them to get under the belt

Best thing about today was finding out Joffa put the jacket on when the filth was 17pts up. D'oh.

The Bombers have really aquitted themselves quite brilliantly this season after getting flogged by Port Adelaide at AAMI in round 1. They have had their share of injuries but have been very good in every game since that defeat and should have beaten North last week.

I think they have a lot of good players nearing the end of their career and probably still need another year with good draft picks because they won't be able to rebuild when Gold Coast comes into the competition so I guess that anyone who doesn't like them has one consolation that they're probably not going to get a priority draft pick or even an early pick this year.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
