the [censored] in front has his umbrella up!

Tell DeeGirl to put her umbrella down

WJ the Bureau says it should be like that out there for at least the next hour or so, so it's probably going to turn into a real grind.

Sweet, basically we're matching the dogs at the moment.. good work dees

Question for people who are there, our accuracy vs theirs, are they just kicking poorly, or is our defence causing them to either rush or bring the ball in very wide?

chooka, i left at 3qrt time, the reason, there will be about 1000 cars boged in mud in 45mins,we have got a first class defence, but most importantly the attack the football hard,we have a very good young side.

A goal to Higgins.

Dogs lead by 16

Don't think we will be able to come back from 16 down. Ahh well.

bucketing down, visibility nil (the [censored] in front has his umbrella up!

Radar says there is heaps coming your way.

Shame that we're letting them get on top in the last.

What's changed? Are they getting the upper hand in the middle? (read: is Meesen rucking? :P)

Maybe they are kicking with the tide.

Dees have not scored in this quarter

Shades of our last quarter vs Hawthorn, except this time we didn't have a massive lead going into 3 qtr time.

Dogs have 14 clearances this q to our 4

:o

Is Brock off for a rest or something?

It's amazing how you don't even have to watch a game to know that when we're suddenly getting done, it's because our midfield has gone to sleep. There is no doubt that our biggest weakness is our midfield, and short of Grimes being thrown in there, I can't see how we can fix it in 2009.

any report on thr crowd?
about 5800 demons,and probably 600 bulldogs.
We did play in pretty heavy conditions last week too, won't be too surprising if we don't finish the game well.

In Cairns as well!!

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
