INTRACLUB DISASTERS FOR BLUES & BOMBERS

I don't think that I've seen anything worse at AFL/VFL level since the days of the old Army Reserve Cup when a Collingwood seconds player decided to emulate the activity of the competition's sponsor by declaring war on everyone who happened to be on or near the vicinity of the ground.

The only thing that comes close in my memmory again involved the collingwood ressies when dermie stomped on a sydney players head.

Good old John Bourke. I reckon Slug Jordan's commentary of the incident was just as legendary.

Shame that he didn't try to emulate Burke by jumping the fence and punching Pratt in the nose.

If you look at the footage on the Herald sun, you will see that the ground that they are playing on is completley brown. no fresh grass.

They were originally planning to use Casey Fields but Melbourne didn't want them to use it.

Plugger got reported for hitting a teammate in an intra club game while with the Saints.

That Dermie clip is on YouTube somewhere too. His excuse was he meant to stand on his hand, not head

Good.

Carlton can go and get fudged!

Dick Pratt can surely buy them some grass or something

Hahaha, i'm glad we told them where to go. :)

Rayden Tallis I believe it was, though i was 10 at the time so may be mistaken

No, Essendon.

Well I still stand by my previous comments regarding Carlton ;)

It's shocking footage indeed. Rumours (unconfirmed) of bad blood between the two, apparently things are so fractious those two couldn't even agree on the price of cardboard.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
