*ahem*

my name is ame, actually amy but there are four amys in my year at school so i spell it ame.. stops the confusion. i'm currently in year 8 and should be doing my pe theory homework but i decided to bust time on here instead. i'm turning 14 in exactly 14 days (yah!). my parents recently separated. i umpire netball locally on every second saturday morning. i first went to the footy in 1997 when i was 5 years old. it was the melbourne - bears game ( i think. something like that) and quickly became addicted, going with my gran and mum to almost every game i could. my melbourne loving gran died in 2003 after a long battle with cancer, and we didnt go to the footy for the rest of the year (all of two games.. grrr). i live pretty far away from my school and most of my friends go for richmond. i love music but dont particuarly like mainstream stuff, i prefer stuff like Bikini Kill and Amy Studt. i went to the 2000 Grand Final (heartbreak!) and my favourite footy memory would be lining up for place tickets after the 2000 Preliminary Final where we beat the Kangas. me and my friends were running around the MCG at midnight! my emails are [email protected] and ame.the.insane@hotmail and if anyone wants to add me that would be great. i want to be an AFL Journlist when i grow up (so i can watch as much footy as i want and write about it .. bliss!) i also like webdesiging and making graphics and stuff.. i'm also celiac and if i eat stuff i'm not suppose to i get sick.. erk . x ame

(wow. i wrote. heaps. pity i dont pour this kinda energy into my schoolwork)

update: as of july/23 i am officially 14!

Hey

name is duncan and im 16 in yr 11 and i barrack for the dees - yet i dont live in melbourne. i live in the harbour city. i had to suffer arrogant swans fans who jumped on the bandwagon paying out every single other team. i go for melbourne because they were playing in the first ever game of afl i saw on TV (they beat collingwood i think)(i think i was loike 6 or 7 at the time). Also my dad grew up going for the dees - fave player was bluey adams.

now my fave player is byron and robbo. i play full forward for my club team and have kicked 217 goals in 127 games.

u can talk 2 me on [email protected] on msn.

oh yeh, and u can add me as a friend on www.myspace.com/spurs_4

Well I guess I can let you in on a little bit about myself!

I'm Lis, as you can very well see, i'm 21 and i'm Nashers wife (ohh the poor fella has no clue what he's gotten himself into!).

Although i'm not a big footy fan, never really paid much attention to it until I got together with Nasher, I am learning to like it, i've even managed to learn some of the Demon players! I've always loved seeing live games, it's the whole atmosphere that I love and find appealing, I was just never one for watching it on TV as the comentators [censored] me off to no end!

I'm usually busy working as a bar attendant, I love my job and couldn't think of doing anything better than chatting to the regulars while serving them their daily beers. But that's about enough of me, i'm usually floating around reading different posts hoping to learn a little more about the sport that my husband adores so much!

my names alan im 22 studyi tourism work in a newsagents and mad dees supporter

i live in brisbane been following the dees since i was little was born in melbourne but have lived in places like Malaysia,Brunei Darwin and now in Brisvegas

Hey guys,

Used to post on demonland a bit, but mainly post on demonology. Somehow forgot what my exact username was on this site, so I have signed up again today.

I'm 23, live in Parkdale work in formalwear as a regional area manager. Been a member of the dees since i was 8 (1990) and a cheersquad since 1998 or 2000, I cant remember which year?!?!

However I dont sit with the cheersquad all that much as I prefer a beer, but when I'm hungover and can't drink I join the cheersquad. Missed two finals since 1990 and been to two interstate matches in my time.

I also love my other football code, soccer! Love the Mighty Melbourne Victory and the Socceroos!

Why did you choose the Dees in 2001? Any particular reason, or just one out of the hat?

Why did you choose the Dees in 2001? Any particular reason, or just one out of the hat?

Choose them for 2 reasons.

1. My best mate follows them

2. The first game i saw was Melb v Port Adelaide and i told myself before the game that whoever wins, ill follow them from then on. Thank god it was a victorian team.

3. Dees are the best but i do follow Hawks and Brisbane religiously too.

Im 21, from melbourne and been following the deez since 2000. I like how they generally play very 'dignified' footy

I'm not a hardcore fan, but I attend a few matches every year and watch it on TV when it's on free-to-air.

Currently I'm into hip hop, R&B music. Also like a bit of rock

ps, i really love the layout of this forum - very professional looking and jam-packed with features :)

At uni, doing teaching and should be doing homework but I'm doing this. Yay.

Barracked for the dees since I was about six, no one knows why. A six year old me announced that I had renounced the heathen magpies (Dad's team) and now barracked for the Demons.

Been a paid up member since the 1999 season. Bleed red and blue and am looking forward to a cup in 2008!

Damn, i feel crook reading the birth dates of most of you here.

My name is Craig. Born second of April 1968 in Numurkah Victoria, and am of Scottish/German/, and a little, Aboriginal stock.

Spent 4 years living in Maitland N.S.W, and now live in Blackwater Qld, working as a shotfirer in a coal mine.

In case you dont know, a shotfirer puts explosives in the ground, then turns big rocks into little rocks.

Having grown up in a conservative National party voting area, i can see both sides of the argument when it comes to politics, (I am a delegate for the CFMEU, and was part of the team that negotiated our last EBA, so i am not a fan of AWA's).

I read, but do not reply to, almost all posts on this site, and demonology, and i find that the posters i am drawn to are the ones i disagree with the most.

HELLO ALL!

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

  • PREGAME: Sydney

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
