I recall pushing Wayde Mills on Demonland for us and I was wrong. He has just been delisted by Lions.

Is he a well-built CHB, who played a few games in his 1st season? If that's him, I thought he looked pretty promising as well.

Yes 196cms and a good hard kid who has done it fairly tough. I don't know if he could play forward but he is big and strong. It sounds like either disposal or pace could be the problem. Others may know more about his recent form in the QAFL.

disposals were his downfall. he couldn't hit the backside of a barn

Yes, his disposals were terrible. His kicking style was awkward and ineffective.

He has no future in the AFL, so lets not have anyone saying we should snap him up in the PSD.

Agreed.

It's an interesting debate when selecting key position players - you can teach a player to kick, but you can't make them any bigger. Therefore do you lean towards a big player with all the attributes and attempt to develop that potential or do you lean towards a natural footballer despite size.

Stefan Martin vs Colin Garland is a perfect example.

If you could choose only one who would it be?

Stef Martin - great size, good build, good athelete - will have no problems against big bodies but will he turn into a player capable of damaging opposition sides?

or

Colin Garland - ok size, lean build, great athelete - natural player but will he probably always battle against big bodied fowards?

I guess you could argue that they will play different roles; however most of the year they were both given big tasks on key position players.

I'd rather have Steven Armstrong on our Rookie List.

Wasnt Haydyn Kiel touted as the next Michael Voss at the start of this season?

lol vossy must not think so cause he chopped him off the list too?

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
