picks 17 & 19

Not De Boer. PLEASE not De Boer.

The guy is a battler, not a talent. He isnt quick, his disposal is poor. He is exactly like Jones. We dont need another slow-ish mid with questionable disposal. We need some outside pace with good kicking skills.

Pick up Blease or Zaharakis.

I think the draft camp will determine Swifts fate. If he manages to test well, then he wont be around for 17 onwards. If he doesnt, then he will be, but you'd have to worry <_< Wouldnt mind taking him though as he is a super talent and was absolutely murdering it before the knee went.

I agree with this summary of De Boer. There are others that are better and quicker.

Pick up Blease or Zaharakis.

I'd be over the moon with getting both. But that would be highly unlikely to nab both in the draft. However, give me one of these and I'll be a very happy camper.

Mitch Bannar would be a nice pickup

Good goal sense, alot like Maric

would be handy, Blease and him or zaharakis and him or all 3. or one.

where is bannar meant to go in draft does anyone know?

and also- angus lapin for a smoky with one of our later picks. watched all his games for mgs this yr and he had a ripper year, absolute class when it comes to skills. freakish pair or hands. lanky but good frame and moves well.

1 Watts

17 Blease, Johnston, Cornelius, Zaharakis, Hill, Swift

19 any of the above

Maric is classier than Banner. He doesn't OOze class, but he finds the pill in truck loads.

My source says about Banner that he was by far the best player at the Jets this season. In relation to the draft : - Where or when he goes -its open slather. Could go anywhere from 15-50 basically on a needs basis. Has played really well of late at Jets. Is considered lazy on the track. If he worked harder he could be a pretty handy type I'm told. He can find the pill plenty but his disposal lets him down. He's not classy, he's a "blue collar worker". If a team is after an in and under type, he's definitely an option.

In summary of Banner: He's your Matty Priddis type if you ask me.

yeh his last 2 weeks for the jets have seen him get 45 possesions in one game and 25 possessions and 4 goals in another. i do like the look of him. tough as nails.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
