Cale Morton - Rising Star nomination

You're looking at the next Goodes and the next Josh Carr. I know who I rather have

I'll just be the first of many to (again) tell you that you are wrong. If you can't tell that Palmer's disposal is dodgy then there's no point arguing with you as you simply refuse to see it.

As for his game, Palmer is a good young player. He's a hard runner and I admire that. However he does so with a man's body already (he's heavier than Morton despite being 5 inches shorter) and he also torches the footy, especially by foot. This is near Palmer's peak, whilst Morton hasn't even got to base camp.

If Morton reaches Palmer's peak level, I'll be rapt.

You undersell Palmer big time. The way he reads the ball in heavy traffic and his decision making, have got nothing to do with his body size. It's a quality that only elite players have, and he'll make the players around him look good.

And if you haven't seen Morton torch the ball by hand and foot under no pressure, you are blinded by your initial assessment of him.

Surely, even you would understand that they're very different types of players at this early stage of their careers ?

Btw, enjoy watching Grimes tomorrow, as I know that his late start to the year has caused you considerable angst.

Bump. I'll admit I was wrong. Palmer actually has superior foot and hand disposal compared to Morton, especially under pressure.

And to all those Palmer knockers, he played at a level tonight that was way beyond anything that Morton has produced this year. The kid is an absolute gun.

mate wat are you seriously on!! the commentators even said last night that palmer needs to work on his disposal big time and something needs working on! palmer has been known to be a [censored] kick! morton has been noted for hitting players 50 meters lace up. one thing palmer cant do that morton can is kick goals!

ffs sum ppl need to grow sum friggen brains!!

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
