Today the dees are gonna give all we have for our clash against the dockers in dockerland... not gonna be easy...

will be interesting to see how Jones goes if Crowley tags him again... gave him a bath last time we played them... hopefully he deals with the tag better this time around...

Good point. I hope so too, as Cale Morton kicks the first goal of the game.

Fremantle 0.0.0

Melbourne 1.0.6

Aaron Davey looking lively.

Miller's playing a little too far up the ground for my liking. Would prefer him closer to goal.

Good run down by Newton. Good to see.

Chris Tarrant scores a Tarrant-like behind from 30 meters out, directly in front

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 1.0.6

A loose ball dribbles through our goals and we score a behind.

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 1.1.7

Aaron Davey getting so much of the ball.

Brad Miller kicks a good goal from 40 meters out as a direct result of a Ryan Crowley 50 meter penalty for arriving late to a marking contest against Valenti.

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 2.1.13

The dees are on fire, as Newton kicks a ripper from the boundary.

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 3.1.19

Morton sharks a loose ball from a stoppage inside 50 and runs into an open goal. You little ripper!

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 4.1.25

Freo don't look like scoring and the Demons' pressure is insane. Good skills too.

Johnson marks inside 50 directly in front and slots another.

Fremantle 0.1.1

Melbourne 5.1.31

As good as we're playing, Freo are not here to play, and as Demons, we all know how frustrating that can be.

freo point, only from free kick... show's their skill... DIRECTLY IN FRONT!

Ibbotson gets a free inside 50 and shanks the kick. A behind.

Fremantle 0.2.2

Melbourne 5.1.31

Valenti having a good game also.

Have a listen to Glenn Jakovich's commentary on the game, all he does is talk about Fremantle! Its unbelievable! When a Dees player does something well, there's silence and finally Dwayne-pipe chimes in with some praise for us. He is so biased its unbelievable, dont think I heard one positive about us from this west coast trashbag!

Oh, and yeah, great quarter, really committed, positive stuff. We should play in this lovey silver guernsey more often!

Couldn't agree more. If we can keep this up, we might be in front by 50 points by half time. And we all know that games between Melbourne and Freo are always decided by then, right?

I was kind of hoping Jonesy would be a little more prominent, given what happened to him las time these two teams played.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
