I would be a marvellous FF. Stuffed knee, stuffed back, 0 aerobic capacity!
As someone else said, it's a pretty big effort to go to Perth. It requires a lot of planning and a crapload of money as it turns out. I definitely haven't bought anything, I was just looking into it this morning when I had some time to kill. At least now I know that IF we happen to win on Friday, it will cost about $2000 all up to get up there and watch the prelim.
Mrs Hood barracks for Hawthorn so we were thinking of booking early for West Coast as one of our teams will be playing but the airline ticket prices have gone through the roof. Price gouging!

I heard on Channel 9 Sunday Footy show today that the club would be making all 22 players from Friday’s game available to the media this week. This has me a bit worried. I hope it doesn’t distract players from the main game. We need to win the next game!

Going to be a cracking game..
Clarkson is no noob, but Hardwick's game bested him.
Some reasoned and some not so much views from Glenferrie. The same will be said of us surely.
I reckon we'll outlast them in a dire contest.
We actually seem to be getting better, more resilient and hardened.
I respect the abilities of Hawthorn. They should return the same.
A nice time to avenge 87 and 88
We're coming off 3 wins against top 8 teams...they have had some good ..some bad..some so-so results of late.
Again...a cracking game awaits
We cannot kick 1 goal 13 plus one out of bounds and three chips that fall short into the goal square over two quarters and expect not to get absolutely belted by the Hawks next week. We must get our forward act together. I have been banging on a bit this year but we just have to nail those set shots from 35m and get some, let’s say 50% accuracy on our snap shots for goal. Is that too much to ask?
Every other part of our game plan is working and says we should get 60 plus inside 50 entries which should guarantee a win. Competitive pressure and Conversion is the key this week.

Don’t like it but not sure there is any rule against it as long as it is not high or deemed to be dangerous by the umpire. Otherwise it is a fend using a foot rather than an arm.

Our forward pressure was insane. We will go a long way to winning next week if we replicate that performance AND nail those scoring opportunities.
We must convert our scoring opportunities next week. We won’t win kicking 1 goal 10 against the Dorks and we won’t get as many opportunities as last night.

From memory, they killed us on the outside. We all got sucked into the contest and the likes of Impy, Shiels, O'Meara slaughtered us. Then we gave up. Didn't help that Bugg kicked 0.4 either!
I described the third quarter at the time as like a scene from Custer’s last stand, with Max and a few mids trapped in the centre of a swarm of yellow and brown Indians!

Just got home, great win, god I am exhausted! Game should have been wrapped up at half time so I spent the second half waiting for the Garry Dangerwood show to crank up but we shut it down brilliantly.

How many times have we said that? We come in with all the momentum, the Hawks playing like rubbish, and they take a scalpel to us and win by 50 points. It's not a matter of them being rubbish or us playing well. Their game style takes us apart every single time. We just don't have any answers to their precision kicking game.
Yes have to agree I am sick of seeing us smashed by the Dorks, what one win in the past 20 games. Mostly we haven’t been good enough but think back to the early 2000’s when they were near bottom and we were near the top and we would contrive somehow to get clobbered. Was it 2004 first round v Hawks and we just didn’t show up to play, get smashed then proceed to win the next 10 in a row. We have some mental block when it comes to them I am afraid.

Interesting Mitchell up to 37 possessions but if Richmond kicked straighter it would have been a 60point thrashing. What was his impact tonight? Zilch really.

I wouldn't want to wish an injury on anyone but gee I wish rance's foot is seriously injured. A chip a fracture or a break.
We need a few more injuries to the Hawks if we make it through tomorrow. Stratton, Burgoyne, Mitchell out for mine.

Tigers killing it, should be 7 goals up if they kicked straight
-
That’s 4 posters and 2 reviews for the Tigers. A bit of luck and that is 6 goals plus!
-
GoaL review is a worry, did that ball brush the post, who knows!
-
Great 0% goal from Dusty but why are Richmond continuing to bomb the ball in high when the Hawks have gone into the game very tall?

Free kicks just about even but it helps when you get them inside 50, especially when you dropped the ball in a tackle and another dodgey 50m penalty for a little push that did not impede the player.
-
Whoops the umpires have intervened big time. 50 meters for a little push in the back but not for a punch while Vlaustin is lying on the ground. Then Roughy drops the ball in a tackle but gets a free for holding. Two goals gratis.

I have to barrack for Richmond. It is hard
Yes it is hard to want either to win. If we happen to win I would rather play the Tigers as I just know the Hawks would stitch us up as they nearly always do.
As usual the Hawks go into a final series with zero injuries to their top 30 players, except for Cyril non football related absence. Many experts apparently were not surprised at Howe’s late inclusion, forget Achilles soreness, more tactics.
They are in finals year after year but just about always have a full list to chose from come the pointy end of the season. Good luck to them but why do we manage to loose players on a regular basis season on season.

Who was Fritsch training with the backs, mids or forwards? If he wasn't training with the backs, it probably means hunt or smith will come in.
Fritsch was doing drills with the backline squad, Lewis, OMac, Frost, Nev, Salem, JSmith, Hunt.

Good to see Robbo there kicking a ball with his young son and Hassa Mann and I have just discovered, Steven Icke at training today.
Wandered passed the Pies training, a lot more fans at their training but then I realised your average Pies fanatic is more likely to be unemployed and able to attend than our hard working Demon followers!

Beautiful September morning, thanks to the supporters, the crowd continued to grow as the session progressed, maybe 300 there. Plenty of MFC staff in attendance.
The squad was very vocal.
...
The simulations seemed to be a competitive without having hard contest. They were finding the player out the back of the pack, getting the extra defender to the one on one, taking some contested marks and creating overlaps. During the simulations, the Casey squad ran some laps (included was Mitch Hannan and Jayden Hunt). Joel Smith was in the simulations.
Hi Kev
interesting comment on J Smith participating in the firsts squad simulations. When they first split out the Casey players I definitely noted that 44 JSmith and Hannan were in the group running laps. Was Smith taken back out of the Casey group to participate after their first lap? Must admit I was diverted by a conversation for half that simulation drill.
Meanwhile . . . down at Glenferrie Road . . . .

I have secretly put money on Hawthorn to win to jinx them! I never win anything.
