I think this is an important point 'bin'...

Also think someone had to take responsibility for Gunston kicking 3.5 last weekend.

Not being at the game I couldn't see the match ups but maybe Bailey was done over by a very good player?

Not sure on match ups over the whole game but he did let that ball through his fingers that Gunston ran onto and kicked into the post that would have put the Dawks within 2 goals in the third quarter. One lapse like that can cost you.

The other option Smith provides is the player who has the speed to come off his man to help frosty and oMac as third man in and the strength and leap to really impact the contest. Strong in the contest as well.

Agree but just worry that JSmith has not been part of the last 4 games of high dare I say extreme intensity football in front of large, sometimes hostile, crowds. Fingers crossed he can come in and perform in front of what will be a cauldron of hostility and intensity after a few runs at VFL level. That said I have always liked Smith as a footballer.

My daughter attended this morning, enjoyed the session, particularly pleased with getting some attention from Gus at the end. She mentioned Harmes looked a bit sore walking off at the end, did any other track watchers pick anything up with him?

Yes I can tell you but I insist we use the Cone of Silence!

How many can we expect to be wearing red and blue on Saturday?

It would incredible if we had anywhere near 50/50 .

Latest number I heard on the news was 3,200 MFC membership tickets sold for the game.

I thought the club could have organised two diesel Locomotives and a few hundred carriages from somewhere for a Deetrain direct to Perth with a thousand fanatics on board. Would need at least 4 or 5 restaurant cars to keep the fans lubricated.

  5. 1964 I was a six year old in a MFC family but we went skiing up at Perisher Valley! The old man got a bit complacent, thought there would be many more finals to be played. He was born in Cooma and was keen to get back to his early days skiing in the Snowy Mountains pre WWII. We loved it and I can still remember my first run down a slippery slope, so no issue with missing the GF.

J Smith slow? About as quick as anyone on the list. He'd come in and Hibberd and Fritsch would be pushed in to more attacking roles. But praying Salem is ok. He's had some tightness in what looked like a groin to me over the last few weeks.

Re Salem, I watched the replay again and Daisey Pearce pointed out that Salem felt for his hammy or groin when going back for a ball in the third I think but he played out the game. Fingers crossed.

So would losing Stratton and O’Meara be like us losing Hibbo and Brayshaw? Just trying to work out a closish like for like. I must admit I don’t know much about Stratton but if so it’s a couple of top ten players out for them. Huge.

Try Hogan and Lever. About time the Dawks copped some injuries.

    G’day folks,

    Any times listed for training?

    Cheers.

No times listed but I will wander by tomorrow to see if anyone is training.

My wife is off to Hawthorn’s open training session tomorrow morning and asked if I wanted to come along! Is she kidding? So I said I was going to our training instead.

Mate I use Jurlique sandalwood shampoo and  L'Oreal beard conditioner, my nits would improve his performance not cause him an issue, as long as ASADA don't do a hair test this weekend he's fine

Moses please, I've climbed the mountain and come back with a message Roosy said Goody is the man

Nathan Brown was the past player this week, still looked really fit, was joking with Wheels who said he prefers a really good paddock

Yes me to I have climbed Mount Sinai but I didn’t get any commandments! No mention of Roosy but then again Swooper was coach back then when I made the ascent and he was blessed.

Sadly he's  a bottom 6 player at the moment. Good around packs and pressure for sure but when opportunities arise has usually hard to predict outcome.

I think I remember giving him votes the match before last. Not bottom six but I agree he needs to lift this week.

  11. Watched him today at training. When they were doing a goal kicking drill from different positions and evading players to kick goals he was very accurate. The boy can actually kick. The knock on him is his tendency to bomb the ball, this can be fixed with some coaching I believe. Plus he genuinely wants to improve, you see it at every training session. He is a keeper in my mind.
