Macca, not having a go at you mate, but when was the last time you sighted one of our supposed key forwards leading towards the kicker???? Our forwards seem to want to take the easy way out, long kicks over the back, easy run into goal. The biggest culprit for this is Fritsch, he can make space but chooses not to. Would also help if our forwards didnt all lead or stand in the same spot. Our mids are sometimes left with no choice but to bomb it in long, or they just have to stand with the ball and wait to be tackled.

LaDee, don't get me wrong, I as much as anyone on here was calling for change, Goodwin has changed up the game plan, and from the small sample we've all seen, I believe it can work. But surely we can all agree that the Petty forward experiment should be over. I discussed with my Melbourne supporting uncle that why not try something completely different, try May up forward, he has size, mongrel and can take overhead marks. May to full forward with JVR and Jeffo around them. He'd give them some protection. Just an idea. Who knows??

Hows this for a wild idea. Why not try Petty in the backline where he was a premiership defender????? Why not have Langdon on a wing where he can use his endurance, run and carry out of the back half and into the forward line????????? And may try the young bloke Windsor on the other wing where he almost won the rising star last year?????? I wonder if any of these would work???????

Did anyone else see Tom Greens bump on the WB player? Looks very similar to Kozzys on Moore last year. But for TG, no case to answer, wonder why?????

Maybe to stop the VFL clubs then being at a disadvantage due to having a player taken in the SSP, maybe the player should have to come from within that teams own system. So a Casey player for us and a 2nds player from Carlton. If we are allowed to sign another player, then Culley certainly fits the above criteria.

Or how about if the AFL medically retire a player, the AFL pay out the contract. The AFL want these players not play for legal reasons down the track, then they should be responsible for any payout. The player is then removed from the playing list, another player can be added through "Special Circumstances". Player wage is also removed from the clubs salary cap.

I dont know about anyone else, but im sick to death of hearing about player signing long term deals only to decide half way through them that they want out. If this text message stuff is even only half right, then why play him????? If his form drops off and has a "Jackson like" half of the season then there is no value playing him, i did mention this in the Luke Jackson thread back then as well, we could all see he was checked out after the bye round, i wanted him dropped. Have a look at the [censored] being said about Brad Greens tweet, the media complained Roffey said nothing to defend the club, Green does exactly that, they say he should keep quiet and mind his own business. Also keep in mind before last season he had played 11 games in 2 seasons. It can take a while to get back confidence in your body after injuries, Petty is in the same boat. Let see if he is any better next season with a full, uninterupted preseason.

Fair point, but why should we not put our efforts into player we may actually be able to get with a freebie?
