  1. I guess I should not have expected too much, but it was not a great spectacle. The indiginous all stars had one training run before the game and as a team looked second tier to Essendon. Though I underestand this is the first time that Essendon had won against them? Thank goodness Davey's ankle was not badly injured. Yes players can equally get injured in a practice game, but the game would have then been put on for a team goal - ie improving and working on set plays etc. I also accept it is great for Darwin to get to see the game to encourage local talent to keep going. The local competition is an excellent recruiting area for the AFL. I am just not convinced that putting our players - or from any club I guess - at risk? One other thing I noticed is the indiginous player seemed to a man to be of the slighter body type to the larger ruck/tall forward/tall defender all of whom have big AFL bodies. I remebering wincing at one time seeing Davy in a pack of 4 or 5 up forward going for the ball when he normally would have Nietz/miller etc splitting the pack or at least taking the big defender. Again exposong the players to potential injury. Am I being too precious?
  2. I thnk he is up to it - but will he break into the team!
  3. At last, cogent argument - I'm with you!
  4. Every year the same thing - they are all in top shape, just shed kilo's,,.... But I was impressed by the young fella last year and look forward to seeng more of him!
  5. Whatever....... I'm just hanging out for some footy! Hope we get the Ess - Indigenous Game on TV. I have recently been reduced to watching American NFL on fox. The cricket is ok, but its not like there is any doubt as to the results. Tennis - nahh. Sort of funny about the guy with the up the skirt camera shots, he sure as hell was not a ball boy though. I expect the NAB will be broadcast late at night up here in Sydney though. I seem to recall few of the top eight finishers from 2006 took the NAB too seriously? A chance to look at the second and third tier only. Seems to be the go to me anyway.
  6. I tend to agree with you! I guess all we can do is hope there are no injuries to our guys.
  7. It feels like a no brainer - but the stats are interesting. You'd have ot say Col though.
  8. I just hope Byronator keeps away from the OP - as in Over Proof........ That way he'll keep his drive.
  9. I'd be surprised to see him in the regular season - but then I have not seen him play at any level. You'd thnink there are a few in front of him!
  10. I could live with ABC2
  11. Let's hope no-one half shaves him in his sleep
  12. I thought the way he finished up a bit unfortunate too - used to love watching him get around the field! So how many sons of players are there going around? Didn't Robbie Flower have a son trying out??
