  1. And Jonesy, I was hounded down before the season about him playing forward (concerns was his leg speed). We could be looking at a whole new forward structure which would be nice after last years nightmare.
  2. I’d be amazed if he was squeezed out, The pies have fitted all their guys into the cap, surely.......surely we can keep an up and coming forward!.
  3. A top 4 team did what they wanted over a bottom 4 team. Eagles barely got out of third and they didn’t need too. the connection they worked on all preseason clearly isn’t working. The bomb kick into the forward 50 was so predictable. Our link up player is Melksham and they wore him like a glove all game. it must have been a strange feeling for the players, knowing your season is potentially over before it started. If, If the season starts again and we play like that, the jungle drums will start for Goodwin. I know he’s not kicking the footy, but he better play some that can kick is better then Spargo, Hibberd etc. brayshaw, Oliver and Trac need to be shown some of their defensive efforts.
  4. I don’t know what’s worse, Spargo’s kicking or Neeld coaching.....
  5. You need some luck to win the flag āœ…
  6. Each year he’s getting worse and worse, I was amazed he wasn’t given the bullet last year.
  7. The 2018 demons are back: The things that impressed me: - loved the forward pressure and hunting in packs - defensive structure was brilliant, the hawks were held up and couldn’t move the ball - Lockharts quickness was impressive - Melkshams hit on Scully - fitness levels, I haven’t seen us this fit - having two gut running wingers who never come off Things to still work on: - accuracy of goal kicking - bombing into 50 to our numbered forwards was still a concern Really excited for this season!
  8. This forward pressure that was nonexistent last year is enjoyable to watch. Amazing what fitness can do!
  9. If he can keep up that form today as a forward I would be ecstatic. I love him kicking for goal. I understand his weaknesses, he could be nice addition forward of centre.
  10. If Goodwin can sort out our press, he won’t be a liability.
  11. He could be a real dangerous small forward, he’s a good kick at goal and a decent mark.
  12. Jones was a star in our team with zero support. The only bloke that would crack in every game. Jones’s development was hindered because he was drafted by the MFC and not a professional outfit during the peak of Jones’s career. I would have loved to see him in Geelongs team in Lieu of Selwood. You have called Jones an ordinary footballer far to often mate.
  13. Surely Melbourne have learned from previous history to not gift players games, we have done that for far to long, high draft pick, let’s play him for weeks on end. We need 22 players in form playing in the team, if not we need the other 22 fighting for their spot in the senior side, hoping someone doesn’t perform so they get the call up to the seniors. If Weid gets a game this year is because he deserves his spot, if not he needs to bang the door down at Casey, thats why I love this signing.
  14. Doesn’t anyone else feel, that they have reduced the coaching budget and pushed it into the strength and conditioning budget? It’s almost like Goodwin has said, give me a fit team and just let me coach them.
  15. Hopefully it will be on display at Royal Melbourne in a couple of weeks.
  16. crossing everything that this bloke can regain full fitness ???
  17. I do get what you mean, they all have personalised programs from the new fitness coach. That's why the demon faithful admire & love Maxy so much, He hurt the most out of last season, his and Tmac's actions speak the loudest.
  18. How do you possibly know that? There is a bloke who can kick multiple goals and has proven he can do it over multiple years, has clearly had a clash of personality with the senior coach (wasn't the only player). The point I'm trying to get across is, i think he can add value to our forward line, i believe he can kick goals for us to be more competitive, if TMac and Weid come out this season firing, brilliant, Jenkins can play when there is an injury etc. If our forward line doesn't function again this year, we have no plan B apart from the guys we currently have on our list. To me that isn't smart planning....
  19. Read it again mate, i was referring to the MFC recruitment team.
  20. I'd prefer to have a few iffy blokes in our squad but still win games. MFC need to grow a set and put it on the line with these blokes, put it in their contracts. The whole he isnt a very nice person, so we decided against it, doesn't stack up with you finishes 17th last year. he'll play for $400k a year (their minimum wage), if hes a screw up, it least Casey will have a goal kicker for next year.
  21. For how poor we were at scoring last year, I dont understand why we aren’t trying to lure both over, Jenkins is going to cost the same as JKH or Billy’s contract. Give Tom and Weid some competition for spots. itleast Casey will be strong also.
  22. I have high lighted the above, these comments frustrate me because the players should be driving this, it is not entirely up to the MFC to develop players. It has to be on the players themselves, MFC should review a players strengths and weaknesses and the end of the year, and its up to the player in the off season to put the work in and improve their skills/craft etc before their official preseason starts. NBA players organise their own camps with players from all other teams, to scrimmage and improve, they employ shooting coaches (should be kicking coaches for our players) and seek advise from past greats like Kobe Bryant (Dunstall's, Brown's, Carey's, Black's etc). Players have to want to get better on their own, once the players embrace getting better and not heading to Europe for 4 weeks, then we'll have a serious team, until then we'll continue to play like boys in a mans competition.
  23. Adelaide being Adelaide will certainly want pick/s, can’t hurt to ask what they’d let him go for and how much of his salary would they cover? Could be similar to the Watts trade where they cover a part of his wage ??ā€ā™‚ļø
  24. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-trades-josh-jenkins-future-move-news-whispers-adelaide-crows/news-story/d1d5ecde4a7e84538c037deb91e34cc0?fbclid=IwAR2Lc-8mTEtufpsu10DEdgtakgwBeyqEglgN7kr9sA1Drnfb4izfUC7k_3c Says he would take a pay cut to get out of there!, i'd take him for $500k a year, hes effectively replacing Tim Smith. We need scoring options and this bloke is one.
