Sorry boys I know it’s too late but I can’t resist asking if you’re now onboard with my thoughts re pulling trigger late vs Lions and the power of it — do you now see it? Do you now blv? Loved Hoyne (who’s the best in business) also agreeing Lions played some of best footy seen Ala kicking in that Qtr 2-3 being supported statistically & we just had to ride through it. Proud of our coaching group, let’s hope it’s wasn’t pulled too early, the Petty move is one I’ve always been HUGE on & couldn’t be happier to see come to fruition, it’s been staring us in face since Lions game last year, and it’s been clear as day it’s what we needed with HP hands & movement, it not only makes him dangerous but brings our smalls in and most of all his VOICE & Comms is essential and when Fritta comes back boy are we gonna be dangerous. They made the necessary adjustments & Grundy was a HIGE call no matter how you slice it, took BALLS of steel and it’s not necessarily over for him but it is now a 4-1 shot he returns in the scheme of it but things change often & thus it’s not mute by any stretch & I expect him to give Max a rest soon & then maybe be a potential decoy/double bluff option come finals where big bodies with skill MATTER & as a resting big Taking 4th defender for 2-3m a qtr, my WORD he could be handy & that’s how it was meant to work Ala preseason, it personnel changed & meant resting ruck was taking 2nd/3rd best defender instead, entirely diff proposition. Final thought on that — Grundy coming back when Fritta does so he’s resting as 4th tall is now 💯 on, even if 4-1 it’s 4-1 each week for 8wks meaning it’s likely at some stage remember that!!! But the real masterstroke is having a FRESH Max thanks to Brodie being there (never forget that should he not ever play again this year, but he will play next year this is Max’s swan song if he plays solo ruck, he WONT be doing it next year no way in hell) and a fresh CLARRY thanks to circumstance and mgmt! All this against a team in-form, firing & playing their best footy (that won’t stand up in finals, as it needs to be too perfect to come thru). It’ll be intriguing to see if SG locks away this beast-mode or will he now back us to maintain it for 6wks & Finals? My thought is that it’s prob still too early to let cat out of bag, as teams can study it & try to combat it & show other teams a “how-to” guide, risky! Will we go back to 80% beast-mode & only break-glass if needed? May still a worry, back 100% worrying him & fwd-line for me still needs to be worked out (FWIW: Grundy will play 35% Ruck & rest fwd/bench 60/40 — alongside a fwd line of the following: BBB (the vacuum), JVR, Fritta, Melk, Kossie, Nibbs & Trac that’s the fwd line, (yes it’s 8 players as that’s how fwd/bk teams work in modern footy folks due to rotations (bench) & rotations (rotate on-field) before I get apoplectic induced nibbles from tribe) only other combo is Tommo in & Petty fwd, but that’s in-shed atm! PS The Grundy narrative is just so moronic & delivered with false temerity that I’m at a loss to even begin to challenge it such is the lunacy & lack of common sense in some of the commentary. Everyone does seem to be forgetting that expected score had us winning by 37!!! Fwd issues re entry are real but if we fix that even by 10-15% and kick anywhere else expected score these 2 things combined will have an absolutely ENORMOUS impact and perfect conditions @ Marvel is 💯 the place to start to see that begin to come to fruition! I think the wet weather exacerbated the whole thing our last dry game we beat the unbeatable Collingwood minus our best player! Just let that percolate for a sec. Yes there’s issues but blv Me it is FAR BETTER to have fixable issues than personnel or major gameplan issues both of which require an off-season and preseason to correct. I’m livid right now but I’m also aware it can all change very very quickly and I think losing Fritta might actually help our balance a little whilst we work through this period.

Again, reference the Hoyne sports day comparison that clearly suggests otherwise! The data says we’re playing the same for same time of year & that we just need to connect and convert better Ala 2021 r13-19 then r20-GF — we’re in thick of it on all key metrics and UNLIKE LY we’re gonna have a well rested group not carrying major injuries (at this stage) inc a rested Oliver & Gawn!!!

The more I think about it the more we may be getting annihalated by loading! Bye didn’t help but last qtr vs cats was more about silky handballs that turned to direct turnover goals to cats it’s that simple! Viney is ok, just a stinger. Clarry looking ok now fingers crossed! Petty working back, May 💯 has a back injury it’s just his it is and weeks out won’t help apparently. Loading hard for finals may be the difference this year if it’s been as hard as reported so let’s be thankful we can now gather some momentum being in BBB to help create a mismatch with resting tuck instead of seeing them labour and be nothing but poor defensively and get some fwd cohesion — remember it’s the wet that’s killed us, that and poor goal kicking in Freo game. So we’re on track! ANB genuinely under pressure now given the turnovers and others issues he’s having atm, this week I think we might even see Woey depending if Clarry is fit. Cats game a write-off for me in those conditions it’s always a slogfest & Cats got lucky with us being too cute i50 — Dry conditions that fwd setup would be great to see! If we go Petty over Smith or BBB then Disco/Tommo play for Petty spot down-back. Fair enough but personally I rkn our back 10 is cohesive irrespective of Gameday combo! issues is a bit rich too if I’m honest — ESS got hot & pressure lacking up field meant they got good looks at it and we lost Lever pre game whom has a solid 1/1 def % and would’ve crunched a HEAP of those long balls

Who says he isn’t match-fit? No WAY he’d be playing if he wasn’t bit only match fit but loaded at same level of all others in his position. Ergo Clarry decision — hospital visit mean the isn’t loaded enough and shows the maturity of the coaching group and ensures come finals our team win the full of u overcooked-under rested meat!!!
